In Wisconsin, it gets cold. Air first, get all the water out that I can. Then add pink stuff. It doesn't take long to blow the camper out and the fitting is cheap enough. I wouldn't want to take a chance on diluting the pink stuff and have trouble next year. I agree with many here that chances are, diluted pink stuff might work but by not diluting, you know it's going to work.

We winterized our Windjammer for the first time yesterday with sadness realizing it is the end of the 2015 camping season for us. Redundancies has kept me in the air many a hour so we use both compressed air and added the pink stuff....blowing out your system saves on the amount antifreeze used. We followed the prescribed methods listed above but I developed a winterizing Check Off sheet tailored for us. Always good to have everyone on board.

This year I will have to winterize the refrigerator, the ice maker. I just keep the heat on camper, we camp every month

Went back out to storage to put mice and bug traps the RV and they guy next to me was working on his RV. He was re-draining his his fresh water and sewer connects after move his in for storage. He said couple years ago he towed for his house to storage and over the winter the drain tube coming from the fresh water tank burst, he said now he re-drains them as the very last thing he does. Also, he claimed water can get down in the drain pipes and if freezes usually damages the gate valve since that is the weakest point. I will say I drained mine then towed to storage and dump a half gallon of water out sewer and black tanks and the tube from my fresh water was full of water.

We have a 2013 Hybrid Rockwood Roo.
We used the toilet for the first time this year. Black tank has been drained but I believe there is still some crud in it. Can you use the chemicals in the tank when adding antifreeze. All water in the systems have been drained and we are ready to run antifreeze through it.

Did mine last night. Removed filter canister system entirely from TT. Leak checked the removal joint and blew all the lines with air, by-pased the wh. Pumped in the pink stuff. My external whole house filter system with the taste, odor sediment filters @ 2/$7 has worked fine for the last 10 years, why fight with success?

When you blow it out with air, are you leaving all the taps open? How does that work?

I do both, just the way I was taught. Between trips, I open the low point drain and blow out the lines. Leaving water in the lines, while it sits in 90 degree weather doesn't make sense to me. Takes literally 5 minutes or less.

First I open all the taps and then open the low point drains. When they stop draining, close the drains and close the taps. Then I have the DW open each faucet (and toilet) one at a time and blow air into the city water connection until she says nothing is coming out but air. This is all I do, I don't use the pink stuff except in the sink and shower drains, and some through the toilet into the black tank. No problems yet in northern Illinois (-20 deg F for days at a time). I don't really do anything about the water pump; it's still got water in it. No problems with it yet, but I may think about pumping some pink through it this year.

(Actually, I have had one issue, possibly winterization related, and related to the drains, not the supply: My kitchen is in my slide, so it's about 4+ ft from my sink to the flexible hose connection for the kitchen drain. The hose connection split this spring, MAYBE because I didn't pour enough pink into the drain to get all the way to the connection. But I can't prove it. It could also have been because the hose wasn't connected "straight-on." But I will pour a lot more in this winter!)
