You are not restricted from any roads, tunnels or bridges as long as the tanks are turned off at the valves.

Tunnels in Balt. you can't go through. Propane can be on everywhere else.
Never have seen any warnings about propane on other then you can't go through the Balt tunnels. Ches bay tunnel bridge is the only place I have been that requires it to be off, they have signs.

Both Baltimore tunnels prohibit propane over 10lbs per tank regardless of on or off.

Sorry, you are right. I stand corrected. I avoided those tunnels. Don't know why since everybody else is fine with the in the off position.

My only experience with tunnels was the 3 I went through on I-76 in PA on my way to Hershey. I remember seeing some commercial restrictions about "If you require to display this particular placard, you have to avoid the tunnel." I never saw anything about "You can go through with an propane tank as long as it's off". It seemed to be either allowed in, or not allowed in, period.

Seems to be a metropolitan east coast issue.

LP-GAS PROHIBITED:
Maryland/Baltimore:
Baltimore Harbor and Fort McHenry (I-95) tunnels. Alternate route for RVs with propane over the Francis Scott Key Bridge is I-695.

Massachusetts/Boston Harbor:
All tunnels.

New York/East River:
Between Manhattan and Brooklyn: Brooklyn Battery Tunnel.

Between Manhattan and Queens: Queens Midtown Tunnel.

New York and New Jersey/Hudson River:
Between Manhattan and Jersey City: Holland Tunnel.

Between Manhattan and Fort Lee: Lower level George Washington Bridge (I-95 South) and George Washington Bridge Expressway. Lower level Verrazano Narrows Bridge.

Between Manhattan and Weehawken: Lincoln Tunnel.

Most of the rest of the country only occasionally wants you to turn off at the tank.

I turn my propane off when I'm gassing up the truck...

As for tunnels...

In Colorado you are 'supposed' to turn your LP off going through the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70, but there is no good place to pull over to turn them off and back on that is safe.

That being said I'm willing to bet that just about every RV passing through has their LP on.

Any of these tunnels I would not go through since traffic would be a nightmare with an RV! Small fortune to use the GWB!
