Never thought to do that. Great idea. Our Springers ride in the back seat on a Kurgo seat cover (they are the bomb) wear harnesses, and are buckled in when we are on the move. Yes, that's the main reason we have a crew cab. It's all about them. And of course, they own the loungers in the TT. Gotta love it.

$300 option to add AC and heat for the rear seat in my F350. My butt has it and my mutts do too.

Before our Silverado was totaled, we let our Pomeranian mix just hang out on back seat. During the accident she came forward and landed under my feet as we hit the retaining wall. A year later she gets nervous if a 18 wheeler passes on left making a good bit of noise. We got her a dog seat similar to a child's seat at Wally World, same brand as Petsmart carries. She loves to travel it, she came look out rear window or sleep as necessary. She adapted to it quickly and since it is on right rear seat, the 18 wheeler noise is reduced. Would not travel without setup. Side note, even with roof vents open in tt, it gets very hot mid day! Hotter than I would bear, same for Pepper!

I wonder if I can have that added on my 15. My dogs deserve it. After all, they are the reason we have a camper.

Same reason we got into camping. Forget cruise ships and airplanes. Now travel always includes our dog. What could be better?

The seats in my '16 F350 are leather. They get hot in summer and cool in winter. The front seats had heat and cool in one of the packages but the rear was still another option. I thought $300 was a bit much as no humans are ever back there. Had 2 dogs when the truck was purchased and there was no question they would have it as Buster was 17 and deserved it. The pup probably would never have noticed but he may as well be comfy now especially since he misses his old buddy.

Bigger truck or just put them up front with you...They'll get use to it after a few trips and...so will you. Try living in a crate for a long journey...don't think so.

I finally figured out how to do my signature. It's more complicated when the site won't log me in half the time. It's strange, I can log in from my office but not from home. Same computer.

Anyway, I already have a 3/4 ton Crew Cab. I don't think it's possible to go much bigger. Not enough to make a difference, anyway. On top of that, I'm not made of money.

Smile The Dog Knows

A little off topic, but...

Our dog, a 9 year old Dalmatian, Abigail, knows a week in advance of a trip.... not sure how she does it... but she gets all excited and nervous..... we are so happy she likes to travel with us.... ! ... then she sleeps the whole ride to the destination, only occasionally putting her head out the back window to look (and smell) around....

Well to be fair to Abigail, the soft seat and the wind rushing by IS very soothing!

If I'm riding shotgun it puts me to sleep in no time. I can relate.
