Travelling with an extra propane tank

I think most people equally carry them in the bed of a pick up truck or in the actual RV. I have not heard of any problems or disasters in the news. I do not think it is a big problem. Just make sure the values are closed up tight.

I do know someone who was pulled over because he had a propane tank mounted on the back of his truck camper. Wasn't fined or anything... Just educated he had to move it.

Maybe in Canada, but as I said before. ...after extensive search, I have not nor can not find any laws governing transportation of personal use propane bottles.
Common sense however, should prevail.
I carry one in the basement of my motorhome sitting inside a milk crate so it won't topple over.....I did the previous research in order to make sure it wasn't illegal anywhere. .....it is not as far as I can tell, illegal in the US or I would not do it.

So if you follow the recommendations, folks transporting tanks in the basement of the 5er need to have the door open slightly for ventilation.

If I transport my 100 lb cylinder to Costco I have to tie up vertically in my utility trailer along with several 20 lbs in milk crates. According to the rules I am over the maximum but they are certainly open air. I see a lot of roofers with 100 lb cylinders lying down like torpedo's in the back of the pickups.

Thanks, just putting up what I found and do. Folks are going to make their own decisions based on personal preference and what they feel is safe or accurate.
