Trip to Myrtle Beach

Just came back from our first trip to Myrtle Beach. Left Central Ohio and stayed at Mayberry Campground in NC half way down. Very nice campground, easy in, easy out. Pick a spot higher up because when it rains hard, the lower ones have a river through them.
Stayed at Ocean Lakes RV park and had a spot next to the dune that leads to the beach. RV park is wonderful. Clean and well kept. It was busier and noisier than I expected especially around dark when the parade of golf carts start along with large fireworks display.
No issues with the TV or TT except for small leak near stove vent when the monsoon came thru Mayberry. The TV averaged 11.8 MPG and pulled smoothly. Was really impressed in the mountains with it, the tow haul is sweet. Going uphill the transmission never shifted below 5th gear and the RPM didn't go higher than 1800 rpm. The turbo on the other hand got a good work out.
Before trip, I replaced my "C" tires with Maxxis "D" tires and really notice a big difference in how the trailer tracks behind me.

We stayed there early June...during the first big storm of the season. Had a great time.

Little blog entry about the place: http://briansrunningadventures.blogspot.com/2013/06/running-myrtle-beach.html

Did you go to any shows?

Brian

No shows. Saw a lot of advertising for the pirate show/dinner. Did the beach, dining and sightseeing mostly. Took a helicopter ride by the airport and chartered a fishing boat out of N. Myrtle for a 1/2 day trip out.
What show did you see and how were they?

Thanks for the post. I'm thinking we're going to go to Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving, this year...

Thanks! It's sadly gone by the way side for a bit- I haven't been able to find time to update it lately. So much to say, so little time!
