We have dish pay as you go account set up for the rv. We just call and they turn it on/off as needed. Yes you pay for the service in advance, but found out it's prorated charges for the 30 days. When we restarted before we left last month the bill was 67 cents since we had a balance from when we turned it off last time. We own the reciever and dish so there are no additional charges. Thnk the key factor is own equipment and seperate account for rv and not use equipment when at home. We have direct at home and have it turned off when we leave.
