Anyone have the tv towers app for the iPhone? I just upgraded the Software on my iPhone 4 and it locates me now in the south Atlantic!!!

The new OS broke the location services of TV Towers.

Got this message from the software developer.

"Someone reported this just yesterday. Coincidently, I sent Apple an update yesterday which (while not deliberately fixed on my part) seems to work. I'll test further though.

Apple usually takes a week or so to process updates. Sorry for any inconvenience"

Herk.....a bit off topic but how is your battery after the update? Mine is horrible draining 1/2 over 3 hours at idle.

South atlantic for me too and battery did seem to drain fast on my iphone 4 after ios6. But got the iphone 5 friday night and the battery seems good to go

Also verify your Apple map locations. Reports have it that buildings, roads, and natural features are either missing, mis-located, or have you driving off cliffs.

Found out today while listening to CNBC on the XM radio.

Apple booted Google maps from their new OS.
You are FORCED to use the Apple maps app instead.

Since the TV Towers program uses Google Maps for spotting data, and the format is different, and it plots you in the ocean. The TV towers app is either being written or has been re-written to use Apple's MAPS app.

All apps that use Google Maps for their underlying road and satellite imagery are broken.

They turned on your Blue Tooth transmitter by default. Turn it back off unless you absolutely need it. It is the number one power hog; right after the WiFi transmitter.

Bit of info for those with the rapid battery drain after the update (mine would loose 20-30% an hour) I did the whole restore on my phone and installed it as a new phone and the issue is resolved. Made me mad as hell.

Got new iphone 5 last weekend and battery life is awesome now. Also got update for tv tower a few hours ago and it is mapping correctly now!

I recived an update on mine yesterday. Now, I need to get out camping and see if it works. I switched to an Iphone 4 recently after my old phone decided to slowly die.

I suggest NOT updating the iPhone 4 or 4S to iOS6. Better to wait until it gets smoothed out and flowing as it should. I do not think S Jobs would have done it this way but...
I will keep my current 4S at the update below iOS6 until things change. I use the maps alot and the new maps is just horrible.
