Hostess is HQ in Irving, Texas (between Dallas and Fort Worth) so they are in the news here a lot recently. Latest word is they have closed a deal with other bakeries and we can expect all of their brands to be back soon.

When I was a kid back in the 50's (Illinois) we had chocolate Twinkies. No, I'm serious, they were great. I think it must have been a market study or something because they didn't last long and Suzy Q's came out.

Yeah, that might have something to do with it. Heck when I was born there were only 48 states.

We just finished our last box of chocolate twinkies at the last campout. Had a few of the original flavored ones too. Don't usually eat them except when camping, we slowly roast them over the open fire like a marshmallow. Tastes yummy to us.

I like Zingers as akid... like a twinkie but with frosting. Yellow sponge cake filled with cream and vanilla frosting. I could buy them after scool of something like .35 cents a pack. Now they sell on ebay for 30.00 bucks! Talk about inflation!!

According to the local news Twinkies could be back on the shelves by Fall which still seems like a long way away. I liked them as a kid but find them too sweet now.
