U Dinette to Table and Chairs

We are looking to remove the U-dinette that is uncomfortable with a table and chair.

Does anyone have a good source where we can get a set that is safe for RV travel?

Love our table and chairs! Would never get a dinette. Too uncomfortable. Call Forest River. They can point you in the right direction

Only drawback I can see is the loss of the storage under the dinette. Leaves you with a baggage door opening to the interior of the coach, doesn't it?

The last time I was shopping for a new trailer, a local dealer offered to replace the table and chairs with a U-Dinette. I agree the dinette is less comfortable than a table and chairs but we need the extra sleeping accommodations. So, I'd try a local RV dealer to see what they can offer.

Alternatively, you can buy a regular pedestal style residential set and modify the base so you can secure it to the floor. Check a few RVs at a local dealer to see how they secure the chairs.

We ordered our trailer from Forest River with a table and chairs just so we could easily take them out and substitute a folding table and folding chairs. That gives us a more flexible living space and saves a LOT of weight since those pedestal tables are really heavy. Plus the grandsons love sleeping on the carpet in their sleeping bags as it makes it more like "real" (meaning tent) camping!

With our Flaggstaff 26RLWS we ordered it with the table and chairs...only difference I saw compared to a store bought apartment size set was they drilled holes in the bottom of the table legs for screws to secure it to the slide floor as well as a permanent mounted strap to hold the chairs in place up to the table legs while towing. Even considered ordering it without anything in the dinette slide but price was the same.
Love the option of moving it around when needed........we actually leave it sideways up against the outer wall with a chair on each end for the 2 of us

Dang. Its a shame we are so far apart....I'm about to remove our table and 4 chairs for a smaller set and would gladly give a great deal but shipping would just be way way to much.

Have table and chairs in my lacrosse 301rls the. Chairs do not have straps to secure I just slide them under table when travelling. There is storage under the chair seat.

U dinette to sofa or recliners

We just got our FR 2501ts Forester Friday. We wanted to order it with the optional recliners but were told that the new (2017.5) production line would only be offering the regular or U dinette. So one of our planned trips is to Elkhart IN (RV capitol of the world). We understand there are many places there that have alot to choose from and will install it for you. Probably at a steep price too!
