User Name
Tell us about your user name. Many are obvious, many are not. What does it mean? Why did you choose it? I think mine is obvious.

I've been using Dan since I finished college as a short for my full first name. Parents at my last 2 churches had their kids call me "Mr. Dan" and so ...............

I like Star Trek, I always liked Mr Spock. The 123 was part of a old email address. I need to delete the 123 and just use Spock. It’s just a handle not a name anyone calls me except on this forum

User name I have used on forums for many years - came from trying to pick one early on and I happened to glance across at the booze cabinet and saw a bottle of Vodka of that brand. It’s stuck ever since.

When we first started "camping" most of our trips had no set destination, we just went wherever the truck pointed, so we "Rambled" around. You can guess the other part!

Kaa comes from the Jungle Book. It was the Jungle name I used when a Cub Leader. DK got tacked on back in my video gaming days (pre-wife and kids). No real meaning now a days, but hey, it's stuck, no need to change.

I had been in the Navy for about 5 months, doing my TAD time at the North Island galley. I would get off work and hit the central lounge in the barracks. In 85 there wasn't cable in the barracks, all we had on TV were the local channels. As a newly minted 18 year old Sailor my only options to watch on TV at 6pm was local news or Star Trek reruns. So I always had Star Trek on when the rest of the squadron barracks residence would roll in from work. A few weeks of that a 2nd Class was tired of Star Trek and asked me "Who the f*** did I think I was, Buck Fing Rogers". My last name is Rogers and Buck became my call sign through 20 years of service. The 1032 is a 4per/revolution vibration that I spent a lot of time chasing on the H-60 airframe.

I worked in the scrap metal recycling industry for 26 yrs before retiring. I used 'Scrapper' for my online gaming handle all the time while I worked there. I just stuck with it when joining FRF.

I'm an avid cyclist, both mtn biking and road biking.
When people ask, the DW says Dan's out "biken".
