Using a coffee maker when you are driving motor home?
Can anyone tell me if you can run a coffee maker while driving a motorho me? We have a Forest River Lexington and can't figure out how to make a cup of coffee on the road! Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,

I don't believe most makers will run but you could use the gas stove with an old-fashioned percolator!

If you run your generator, you can use whatever you want. A lot of people run the generator to use the AC while driving in the summer. The dash AC doesn't cool the motor home at all.

We love percolator coffee and make it in the morning. Fill our carafe and it stay hot until the next day, or its gone.

or you can install a big inverter, if you don't already have one.

Had a 4 cup 12v coffee maker in 1976 which we used on our long trips. Now you can get one of these.

Stanley thermos works for us, but after three hours we're "coffeed out" anyway and switch to something else.

We have a Keurig. I start the generator, make hubby a cup, all the while we're booking on down the road. I have learned to keep my balance quite well. Lol

We've found it's much safer to wait and get a fresh cup of coffee when we're refueling, or at a rest area. Much better, and safer to get out and stretch, walk the dog and renew the senses for a few minutes. I think most of us can afford the cost of a cup.

Most definitely...I've done the rolling chef routine, but it's a challenge and, besides, many states now have seatbelt laws that apply to RVs as much as cars. Discretion is the better part of valor!

We use a keurig type brewer and just set it in the dry kitchen sink while brewing. As in all endeavors one must decide for ones self the course of action he or she want's to take.

Perhaps getting the coffee maker to keep its balance is the important part. Small maker might stay put in the sink??

Flying wives and/or coffee makers are not cool. Truck stops have coffee mugs that plug into cigar lighter sockets and hold a generous supply of "joe".

Stanley Vacuum Thermos. Better yet, stop for a tall cuppa. Stretching the legs helps stave off deep vein thrombosis which can really curtail the fun.

Geeez, the OP just wanted to know if he/she could brew a pot of coffee while tooling down the road not whether it's a good or bad practice. Let it go Louie, let it go.

We also have a Keurig and love it. It's a bit more per cup but we have no waste. With the generator we can make it as we are moving down the road. For safety we only do that when on a expressway and not a lot of traffic.
