Valterra adjustable water pressure regulator with gauge

For yhose using this water pressure regulator where are you hooking it up? If outside at source aren't you worried about sticky fingers taking it?

Let's see my Watts water regulator cost $90.00 and my water hose about ten bucks at Walmart. I plan to put the regulator inside the compartment and run the hose to it

As we only have a hold on the trailer and this is our first I am not sure if there is a hatch or just an outside connection yet. It is a Rockwood 2109s if anyone might know. Thanx for the quick replies spock and Dan.

I have never given it a second thought. Never even thought about someone stealing it until you just brought it up.

Not that things can not be stolen but in all my years I only heard of beer being taken out of a cooler that was kept kept outside an RV. Hope this continues to be the norm. And your can probably guess the gender and age group of the invaders.

I camp to get away from the world.. If I am that worried about my garden hose and regulator being stolen I just need to stay home... Like above, not that things every do not get taken, but I have never had it happen. If it did, I'd be sad but would move on.. I half the time do not lock anything up, even the surge protector. The only thing I do lock is my geni and fuel, especially when at a rest stop for the night.

Agree. We have never had anything stolen in 30 years. If they took something like this I'd have to think they needed it more than me.

I always hooked my gauge directly to the campsite water spigot until I ran into a leaking back flow preventer. Then I hooked it inside the water compartment.

I really like the inside hook up as it does put my mind at rest. Although like the other posters I have never had a reason to worry.

I chain everything up, I don't worry about a thief, I worry about them walking off. My pressure regulator is not cheap and I don't even want to think about my surge suppressor, it's not cheap.

I locked up my EMS for the first two years and haven't bothered for the last four. I do lock my Tailgater though most people I have seen with tailgaters don't bother. I only stay in full service commercial campgrounds so maybe that makes a difference.

I lock my stuff up to keep honest people honest. I do things I like and I hope you do to. I have fun and I hope you do. Do what you like is what I always say

Just thought I would ask. Our only other camping experience was with popups and we didn't worry about such things back then. Alas that was probably 25 years agot though.

I carry good insurance and I don't worry to much. I lock as much as I can up, no way you can stop a thief. Another camper told me about the watts water pressure regulator, I like it.

I'm more worried about it working. Purchased the 1st one and the gauge did not work so Valtera replaced it. 2nd on worked about two months then again gauge needle stuck. I contacted Valtera again and they wanted the receipt which I did not have. In the end I just gave up. As to theft it's like anything left outdoors.

Right to the CG spigot. On my second Valterra now. First one worked just fine, until I left it at a CG one trip. Oops.

I was going to bring up this point as well. I left a brass hose y on the spigot. Not a big loss, but I remembered this when I got my watts regulator. Stolen or forgotten, you're still missing it. Flip side argument, however, is that putting the regulator on the site spigot will prevent the hose from blowing from too high of a pressure.

I think now I will go right to spigot. If it walks off I will try the less expnsive ones with no gauge or adjustment.

I've never even given it a thought. I install mine right on the spigot. water connection is external on the trailer so no hiding it anywhere. I lock up my grill and spare propane tank when we leave. I really doubt most people even notice it, though 2 weeks ago my neighbor did and was asking about it as they had a water line blow in their class A at 4am. Only thing we ever had walk off was a small cooler with a cucumber in it. Assuming it was kids looking for beer. That campground is scribbled off the list of places we would return.

I carry both. The non-adjustable is a back up. I put the adjustable one on a Y-valve at the spigot.
As to thievery, I believe when it occurs it is more likely to be items of use to teenagers. I'm more concerned about my bike than my pressure regulator.
