Waiting for parts

We are on a trip from Pittsburgh Pa to Gulf Shores Al. Outside of Birmingham our TT rear axel bearings failed, overheated and caught fire. We are now sitting hooked up at a Camping World waiting for a new axel. I was told that the axels Forest River has are for new builds and won’t send them as parts. So Camping world had to order from Forest River who has to order from axel manufacturer who will ship to Forest River who will then ship to Camping world. We have been here two weeks and were told we should expect two more weeks. This Camping World has full hook up parking lot so at least we can stay in TT. Does this sound right? Has anybody else had this problem?

We may end up driving home to be with our grand sons for their first Thanksgiving then have to drive back to pick up our TT, 1400 miles round trip.

No. I assume this is warranty? FR doesn't make the axles. Have you contacted FR yourself to confirm all of this?

NEVER believe the dealer's excuse about waiting for parts.
Always contact FR to verify that the dealer actually ordered them, especially CW.
The majority of times dealers say this, it's discovered that parts were never ordered.
Not saying that they didn't but you need to check up on it.

Hate to say it, but that sounds about normal. What you can do being your just about 600 miles from Goshen, is drive up there and pick up the axle yourself, it would be a lot faster, other then that your going home would be better then sitting at CW. Is this under warranty? I would also call LCI and ask about your order.

I would call a local trailer repair or even big truck shop and see if I could find someone who might be able to help.

Not under warranty but we have an extended plan we bought. Covers parts and labor minus $100 deductible and shipping. At least it’s mostly covered
