Warranty question.

Well, we have been enjoying our new trailer!

We have two minor warranty issues. One of the window shades, the string broke. The toilet won't hold water. Dometic 302... model. Probably needs the seal fixed or replaced.

The issue is...
We bought the trailer in Denton, TX, from Funtown RV. We live in Seguin, TX. We were hoping the local Forest River dealer, Explore USA, would be able to handle the warranty issues. They have said that they cannot help us.

I guess the question becomes, where can we take it for warranty work, without having to make a five hour drive to Denton?

Contact FR for other nearby dealers that will do the warranty work.
Or an independent RV shop can do the work, if you get pre-approval from FR and are willing to be reimbursed.

FR found us 3 nearby dealers willing to do the warranty work and one didn't even sell any FR products.

If you scan other similar threads on the forum, you'll find that the dealer is telling a small fib. In truth, the CAN do the warranty work, they DON"T WANT TO. FR paperwork says that non-selling dealers are not required to provide warranty service. In many cases, dealers get paid better for non-warranty work and have long backlogs waiting to be handled. So they have little incentive to take on more.

Good luck, you may find a dealer closer, otherwise you may be better off just DIY.
