Warranty Repair for SandPiper at any Forest River dealer?

Hi. I'm in northern California, and talking to a dealer in southern California. The coach is a SandPiper, and the dealer says I can get first warranty work done at any facility that does Forest River work.

Is this correct? Anyone have any experience?

That dealer isn't being truthful. Many dealers will refuse to do warranty work, on units they didn't sell.
This is a well known issue in the RV community.
My experience while living in California, was that a higher percentage of Cali dealers have this attitude, than other regions of the country.
I was told by 3 California Rockwood dealers, that they would refuse to do warranty work, if I bought any other dealer.
I did buy from a different dealer and FR found us 3 local dealers willing to do the warranty work. Or I could have used an independent RV shop or mobile RV tech. I just had to get pre-approval from FR and be willing to be reimbursed.
I think that if you called your local FR dealers, they'd tell you that they would probably refuse to do warranty work for you.
The RV Industry doesn't work like the Auto Industry. RV Dealers aren't required to do warranty work on units they didn't sell.

Warranty work pays at a lower labor rate than most dealers charge for non warranty work. Warranty work especially at a dealer that did not sell the unit usually has the lowest priority.

Maybe forest river should require all dealers to work on any warranty repair. They are the ones to make this happen.

As was said, RV Industry has very little in common with the Auto Industry. The only things they have in common is that they both sell things with wheels, at dealerships. Other than that, they couldn't be more different.
RV Dealers are independent businesses and none of the RV Manufacturers can force them to do this. They can strongly "recommend" that they do but that's about it. Even if they threatened to pull their brand, the RV dealer would just sign up with another brand.

Many independent RV repair shops do warranty repairs for most brands, and even on extended warranty work. My son works in a shop where they make their $$$ on repairs, not sales.
