Warranty Work

I am relatively new to camping. I have been to the local RV dealer twice where I made the purchase for warranty work. Each time it seems to be a long drawn out process with a lot of excuses. Short on help, must use mechanics for PDI's / they get priority (I don't believe I would have told that one), too much work, etc., etc.

It seems to be a 3 week process at minimum IF I stay on top of them.

My question is this.....Is this NORMAL?

Three weeks is great for this time of year. What type of warranty work are you having done. IMHO, sometimes it is easier and faster to repair minor things myself when possible, even under warranty.

That's about right especially like TeamFour said, during the height of the camping season. Also, unless they are a really big operation that moves a lot of campers, it is very common to use the techs for the PDI (hey who knows RV operation any better? )

So what's wrong? Lots of knowledgeable folks on the forum maybe we can help.

Also let us know what make/model of camper you have

We always waited for the off season for warranty work.

But yea, sounds normal.

One of the AC units isn't working. Already replaced the unit on the 1st visit. Same issue.... Not cooling/making a "humming" sound. Would not shut off by using the on/off at the thermostat. Had to turn the breaker off.

If I could get mine in for warranty work to the selling dealer in three weeks I would be happy. Never less then one month.

We are having a similar issue. It is a little frustrating to have the main air condisioner out of the commission in the middle of the summer.

Call the warranty director for your brand of Forest River product and explain the situation.

Since it is the air conditioner it should be covered under the ac manufacture warranty which just about any RV service center should be able to handle the warranty claim.

There is a slim chance that the problem could be from the wiring of the ac installation which would then be a Forest River warranty. Ask the warranty director is this were to be the case if they would cover the repair at a non Forest River product service center.

Good Luck,

If it is a Dometic AC contact a local Dometic service center to have them remedy the problem. Service Locator
