Washing RV

We are new fulltimers and are living at a campground which will not allow washing RVs. The winter took a toll and I need to clean it. Well at least I think so. How does everyone keep their units looking good on the road?

Look for a blue beacon truck wash at truck stops.

If you don't want to move the RV have you looked into waterless washing?

If you really want to wash/rinse talk to the owner/manager of the campground. Usually the no washing rule is to keep all visitors from using excess water. I suspect they will allow you a once a year use for a fair fee.

There maybe people in the area that come out to your site and do it. They bring their own water. Ask camp, owner, he may know. There are places we visit that do.

What about washing the roof?

When just washing everything except the roof how much did you use? I am heading to Florida in July for a week and thought about seeing if I could get it cleaned while I am down there.

Several of the different CGs that we have stayed in down there have services that come in and do wash/wax, what ever you want. Average about $10.00 a foot including duing the roof.

I'm 40 feet so looks like I am washing it myself then. I can't bring my camper to my house to wash it. The streets aren't meant for something that big and I have no place to park it.

That would be $400 for a full wash and wax. After spending 4 days doing mine by hand, its worth it. Looks like new when they are done.

I have the Georgetown XL 387 so almost 38 foot long, and she was dirty I used less then 32oz of the Wash/Wax All to clean her, and sorry to say I didn't get the roof done yet. It really does work just like they say, spray on wipe off even the black streaks gone.

Good to know. That will be my next purchase. I don't mind taking the time to clean my RV. Gives me a little more pride knowing I did it myself.

I washed my previous one myself but it was only 21 feet.

Can it be bought other than online?

I'd just wash the darn rig later at night when perhaps the office is closed. If you get caught just use the good ol' I didn't know excuse followed by a sincere "what am I suppose to do?", you want the units in your campground to look cared for and maintained, don't you? This would be even more true if you leave your rig parked there all off season and pay an additional storage fee.

Did a google search and didn't see anyone selling except online retailers, I believe this is the same stuff that started out like the old Amway type sellers, now maybe strictly online because they probably make better profit and less headaches.

Maybe someone else will chime in with a retailer, I like Amazon they deliver. keeps me out of places like Walmart, LOL.
