Water heater DSI retro fit

I've recently bought a new trailer and the water heater (sw6p) was a definite diwngrade from my previous trailer which had a sw6de.
I really enjoied the convenience of just flipping a switch to have hot water.

My question is: Is it possible to take parts off a suburban water heater that had dsi and make it work on my base model unit?

I have the option to buy one that is in working order but has "small leak" I'm thinking if it's possible to swap components out and I can get it for a good price i could have a dsi unit in my newer camper
Thanks

On your hw heater in your camper is there a place for a element?
Just looking at pics of your model.
What you ask can't be done.

I was aware that it was gas only but it wasn't going to stop me from buying the trailer. Just a minor inconvenience when I go to take a shower.

Just a suggestion but have you asked dealer what the cost is to upgrade and if they'll give you some kind of credit towards your slightly used one?

I'm more of a do it yourselfer. I'm afraid to ask what instalation of a new unit would be.
Again I have access to a sw6de that has a tank leak and am curious if it's possible to take parts off that one to convert mine on my trailer to dsi. The 110 element would be nice however mostly looking for dsi.
