water heater question
had the shop winterize tt last fall and i cant find electric hot water heater bypass.
i have looked everywhere but cant figure this out . i have hot water working fine using propane but cant get it using electric.i have treid the switch in the outside panel but no hot water. it sounds like something is turning on periodicly but i cant figure out what the hell im doing wrong. its pissing me off!!!!

There is only one water heater bypass and it will be located very close to the water heater in the water lines. There is no separate one for gas or electric.
If the electric side is not heating the water but the gas side is, then there is a problem with that part, not a lack of water.

Open the outside water heater cover and look to the lower left there should be a switch with a pin in it. If you don't have the switch you may not have an electric water heater. When it's running on electric you won't hear anything.

I agree, hot with gas but not electric has nothing to do with the bypass.

When you are in the trailer you won't hear anything but if you are standing at the water heater and the water in it is cold still (no gas turned on) when you flip the on/off switch you "should" hear the heating element start sizzling. At least I can on mine.
Have you checked your breakers?? Also could be a bad heating element..

.... or it could be that the wh was drained for winterizing with the electricity still on and the element turned on and 'hot' which would burn it out in a very short time once the water was drained. Just a guess, but you did say it worked until they winterized it, right?

Been there, done that! When I got my new to me '03 FR 25LB Flagstaff. I thought I had bad electric heat coil. Bought new one - only to discover that my heater was electronically fired propane only (DSI?). It did not have a 110v heat coil and no place to even put one. If indeed yours has one and it is burned out (frequent issue) - I still have the element I mistakenly bought. Its yours (or anyone elses) for cost of postage from N. VA. (In doing research there is an aftermarket electric heating coil that replaces the anode rode - believe its calling Lightening heater).

Careful with that aftermarket one; Atwood says it voids their warranty

If he has an anode rod it is a Suburban model, not Atwood.

True, and I don't know much about Suburban, but apparently there are units for Atwood as well, and their site warns against using them. That's all I'm saying
