Water hook up problems

OK guys, here is my problem.

I have a 2014 23IKSS. The other weekend we were camping at a camp ground. When I filled up the water tank and turned on the water pump, water started leaking out of the city water hook up connection. As a quick fix I just put the Y splitter on the city water hook up and shut the valves off. This work fine.

The next weekend we were camping at a campground with full hook ups. I hooked the hose up to the city water and everything ran fine. I was hoping that it was just some kind of stuck check valve, and that when I hooked up to the city water it freed up the valve [that I am not even sure exist], but no such luck.

This weekend we were camping and the same thing happened, I filled the water tank up. When I turned the pump on, water leaks out of the city water supply. Until these last few trips this has never happened.

This is only my second summer having a camper, so I hoping that it something that I am doing wrong.

Any ideas on what I should check, or try?

Thanks for your help

Check valve usually in water pump. Maybe able to take pump apart or just unhook lines to pump and pick at it. So say best bet is to replace pump.

Remove the screen from the city water inlet you should see the back flow valve. Use a this screw driver to press and release the center. Also check to insure no critters have started building nest/web in it if it was uncovered.

Correct, but that check valve keeps water from flowing back through the pump into the fresh water tank when hooked up to city water. There is another check valve behind the city water connecter that keeps water from shooting out the fresh water connector when drawing from the tank.

Here is a link to B & B Molders. Find your city water inlet part # and order a new one.
You will need to also buy some Butyl tape to reseal the new valve to the trailer wall.
Easy repair, 3 out of 10 on the handy meter.

You're right, it's been a long hot day, just wasn't thinking of the right check valve!

Thanks for the comeback.

You are talking about when the fresh water tank fills. His problem is water coming out where you connect city water. Check valve under sediment screen there.
