Water Hose Quick Connects
Anyone have experience with modifying the fresh water intake connection by putting a "quick-connect" fitting on it to allow easier (and faster) connection to the appropriately fitted supply hose? Same question regarding the connection for the black tank flush.
Any problems?

Only place I've used one so far is on city water filler...my outside water filter is tall enough to sit on rear bumper, so no strain on connection, and with a brass 90 on the 'in' side of filter, the hose doesn't strain anything. I use the factory cap to seal the quick fitt'n when not in use.

No problems. I use which connects on all of my hoses (4 sections of fresh water hose and 2 black water hoses), 4-way splitter/manifold, water pressure regulator, and my utility hoses.

No problems at all. I actually modified mine just a hair and added a Camco faucet tap, so if I need outside water quickly. It also works good to relieve the pressure in the hose, once you turn off the campground tap...before removing the freshwater hose.
When rolling up the hose for storage, I always leave it connected to the Camco faucet tap. and then just screw the other end of the hose on to the Camco faucet.
Although the pic below doesn't show the tap with the quick connect attached, what I did was install the male end of the quick connect to the fresh water inlet of the RV, and then the female end of the quick connect to the Camco water tap.

Water Hose Quick Connects
We put quick connects on our washer hookups just for winterizing use - we dont have a washer but still run pink stuff through both hot and cold lines
A short piece of garden hose stuck in the washer drain - easy to winterize every time in that awkward area

Have used for years on all hoses at home/shop/Rv,carry spare Female they have the Seal that can leak! Makes hose storage easy also!  Youroo!!

Use the quick connectors for my fresh and black flush hoses...have had no problems.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Going to pick up a set of them today and hook them up. Hope I still have room to close the access panel door but won't know until I try.

Just try to keep the 2 halves pretty much in line to reduce chance of leaking.......might want a spare. Found mine at Home Depot.

Water Hose Quick Connects
I use quick connects with no issues. Sure makes it a lot easier to connect/disconnect hoses. Here is my setup between city and fresh water supply connections.

I've used a quick disconnect on my water line since I bought my 2011 Georgetown. The hookup at the side of the RV is: 90 degree elbow, quick disconnect, inline ball valve, hose. This lets me shut off the water at the RV, unhook the disconnect, move the elbow to the other fill port and quickly hook everything up again. When I'm unhooking to leave, a closed ball valve lets me unhook from the RV before I shut off the hydrant.

I use them on everything I can with no real problems. Calcium scale can build up over time depending on where you are at and the quality of the water. They make life much simpler.

Great topic. I have thought about this many times. Anybody seen issues with the smaller fitting of the quick connect reducing water flow? That was my only hesitation.

I use them and they work fine. But I prefer the plastic quick-disconnects since the metals tend to corrode.

If your unit has one of these Winterizing valves you need NOT worry about Flow Reduction!  Youroo!!

I can't see any difference in flow rates from the water outlets in the RV.

Make sure you have pushed the connection all the way in. Sometimes it looks like it is connected but isn't. Does put a lot of water in the water panel compartment.
