Would be nice if more of the classes were available in our area. When our son bought a camper it was here it is have fun........... he had only pulled a 5x8 enclosed trailer prior to that. He did good though.

I think it should be mandatory or such a class. I think you wee VERY wise! That training will pay off HUGE when you are taking it for your first trip!

I did the trial by fire method. The first trailer I EVER towed was my 36' TT and the first place I ever towed it to was 1400 miles away to Orlando.

I know I will probably get flamed at for this but I feel there should be a endorsement on your drivers license for driving or pulling a rv, I know in some states there is because of weight but some of the rv's are as big as a tour bus or smaller trucks. I still carry my CDL and it is a hassle and tighter restrictions, but required if I work around the holidays so was easier to maintain it. Still glad to see some folks take the time to improve their skills.

X2 being a retired semi driver and working part time owning and driving a quad axel dump truck I have seen and know many people get in a bad spot because of no skills driving a class a or pulling a TT. Nothing worse then sitting in your truck waiting to get to your camp site pulling your TT as a green horn spends 30 minutes backing in his spot for the first time with his brand new TT that he just got and never pulled a TT before. maybe I should start a course in my area? I have trained many first time drivers where I worked back in the 90s. I would work with them for a day spotting trailers and that is the skill they had to learn before going on the road, That's the hard part. anyone can drive down the highway in straight line its backing and turning that gets them in a bind
