We live along the coast in SE NC. The temps in N FL are little different than at home. Many from NY/NJ/OH/etc winter here as snow is a very rare event and not much of it for the few hours it stays. For that reason we always spend 2 - 3 months below Tampa.

I'm from Central West FL ( Crystal River) originally, and currently in N.FL (Tally) now. Have lived in ENC for the last 20 years though. But anyway back to your question. N.FL is equivalent to any other Southern state temp wise. It does freeze but not for weeks or months on end. It generally gets cold at night 30s and warms up quickly in the day. 50-60s. Central FL. Tends to be about 10 deg warmer. And add another 10 for S.FL.

Should add that I've also lived in Swfl. As well. Also N.FL has cheaper and easier to find accommodations. Snowbirds start filling up areas from Gainesville South Ward.

I have lived in North Central Florida for 41 years. Average temps in December are usually in the upper 60's for high and mid 50's for a low but can swing either way. We do get down into the low 20's but that is rare. Usually freezing temps are between 10PM and sunrise and this only lasts a couple of day before it warms up again.

I live in north central Florida. December usually remains pretty mild. I think it is pretty rare to have freezing temps in the early morning hours. Not that it can't happen, but our weather into the low 30's to 20's is usually in January or February. Even then, freezing temps don't last too many hours. We usually make it into the 50's during the winter. We put sheets on the plants that cannot take freezing weather and they usually do fine. The heat in your camper should protect most things. You might want to wrap your water hose in something to keep it from freezing. Temps during the day can even go to 80's. I have seen that on Christmas day many times. Mostly, highs in the 60's and 70's that time of year.

We live near Jacksonville. And have for 66 years. The thing of average temperatures are very misleading. Take for instance, last winter, we had 3 days below 32 degrees. Most temperatures call for a sweater or wind breaker. Then there are days like last January where I wore shorts every day followed by goose down jacket and hat followed by shorts again.
Back in 1989, it froze with an ice and snow storm for 3 days at Christmas. Before that 1983 15 degrees for 3 days killing most orange trees as far down as Orlando. It could be a crap shoot at best.

Local RV parks here in north Florida are full of folks from up north all winter long. They don't seem to have any issues. Once you get here, you just might want to talk with some who winter here to see how they handle it. I'll bet that very few take extra measures. Our TT sits outside 365 days a year and we have not had any issues. That said, we don't have our water hose out. But, inside, there have been no issues. And that is with it not heated at all.
