Weather Tech floor mats

So I finally got my Weather Tech floor mats. My floor has black carpeting, and the stock mats are actually pretty nice, but I needed Weather Techs. My bench seat is grey, so I thought grey would be a good color for my mats. Wrong! The grey looks ok, but they really should have been black. I'm pretty bummed, but for what they cost, they're mine forever. Lesson learned- always buy floor mats the same color as your floor. Duh.

Don't be too bummed. I got the black ones. But after a winter of driving, I pulled them out last week and gave them what I thought was a really good scrubbing. Plastic is still holding some color from the dirt. I may try washing them again and then doing an Armor All treatment to see if I can get them back to black.

Don't use Armor All on them. It will make them slippery. Weather Tech makes a spray on cleaner and a spray on protectant. They both work pretty good. The protectant is not slippery.

Use these products to clean your WeatherTech floor mats.
You can purchase them from Amazon.

If you are thinking about different floor mats because of the color I would recommend you take a look at Husky floor mats, I used to be a big fan of weathertech until I tried Husky.

I've had both Weathertech and Husky, the Husky floor mats are cheaper and seem more substantial than Weathertech and also seem to fit a little better

I remember going to the website, and saw the price and immediately closed the website. The ones at department stores are just fine for what they cost compared to weather tech.

Never a good idea to use ArmorAll on floor mats, foot pedals or steering wheels. Works great as intended on dash, tires etc.
I've never been disappointed with any products that Weathertech produces. Fit and finish show American craftsmanship.

To sailorsam

I have weather tech mats in both of our vehicles and love them. One of them has tan mats that are hard to get stains out of. After trying several things, I tried liquid oxyclean laundry detergent and a brush. It works better than anything else I've tried. Not perfect but better than anything else yet!

Nope. Can't buy the Huskys- already spent too much on the Weather Techs. I will learn to love them.

Can't you exchange them for a different color?

My experience with WeatherTech was not the color, but the fit. For the price paid, it would seem they would fit well. Fit they did, but not as good as expected. One of those instances where its not worth the trouble and expense of sending them back.

Umm- did you read my post #12?!? As far as exchanging them, I think I've probably had them too long.

Put some mud on them.

Don't beat yourself up. Here in NM, my black ones are mud colored most of the time. Do be careful when you put them back in . Make darn sure you get it under the accelerator pedal. Sounds dumb, but I've done it and seen others do it. The sudden acceleration doesn't always happen immediately. It happened to me a few blocks from home.

WeatherTech is such a great company, I would bet money that if you called them and told them of your mistake, they wouldn't think twice about exchanging them, no matter where you bought them. They want you to be 100% happy with their product and they will always do anything they can to accomplish that.
