What are your thoughts - From Missouri

Hi Everyone,

We have a Salem 27RKSS 2013. We were thinking about getting stabilizer for the slide. Went to our local dealer who said that Forest River does not encourage this under as "The slide out uses the weight of leaning on the trailer to seal, putting a brace under it usually will push the upper seal away from the wall of the trailer allowing water to get in if it rains".

This is our first slightly used trailer with a slide so we are banking that our sales person at our local dealership knows what he is talking about.

The other thing I do is check with people to see if this is what they have found and/or concur with sales.

Any and all information will be taken into consideration. BTW, we did cancel that part of our order as I put the cart before the horse so to speak

Thank you
Dave and Gayle

yes, he knows what he's talking about! congrats on getting a saleman who actually knows something about his products.

slide supports are NOT recommended by the manufacturers and if you cause a problem with the slide by using one, your warranty will be voided.

are you using tandem wheel chocks?
you can also add aftermarket stabilizers like Steadyfast:

SteadyFast: 5th Wheel and RV Travel Trailer Stabilizer System
Dan-Retired Firefighter/EMT
Shawn-Musician/Entrepreneur/Wine Expert
and Zoe the Wonder Dog(R.I.P.)
'07 Roo 23SS pushing an '07 Chevy Avalanche
Equalizer WDH and Prodigy BC
