What do you carry in the bed of your pick-up?
Just curious, what do you carry in the bed of your truck while towing your fifth wheel?

Medium size under the bed rail tool box that holds everything from zip ties/lubricants/fuses to wrenches/drills.

A picture is worth a thousand words
Fuel and the Generator takes up a good bit of space. One of the egg crates is now replaced by a spare 20 pound propane tank for the "Lil Red Campfire."

I always have a truck tool box back there, and when we are headed camping, I load a covered plastic tote containing a small LP grill along with all the grill utensils. I have tried to find a place for everything in the 5er so that I don't have too much to load/unload. I decided I didn't want to store the grill there because I didn't want to attract mice.

Epiphany...
I store my Baby Q grill in the front compartment. I need to rethink this.
No trouble yet, but...
Mice! Yea, I can see that.

two 5gal diesel, two 2.5 gal gas for generator, compact Dewalt air compressor, two small plastic totes for tie-down straps, 12ton hyd jack and assorted hand tools. also about 16' of 2x10 for muddy campsites. Bed is covered with Roll-n-Lock hard cover to keep everything out of sight when not towing.

A large Coleman ice chest with at least one or two adult beverages in it , a 20 lb propane tank, a Swagman 2 bike rack for the 2" receiver in case we find some bike trails in the area that may be too far away to ride to, and some firewood.

I now understand why you have said in the past you wish you had bought a 3500HD SRW!

Full-width under-rail tool box, full of jacks, tools, extra power cord, etc.
Usually about 200 lbs of firewood.
Propane tanks and cookstove.
Extra spare for the truck.
One bicycle (other in the fifth-wheel basement)
Ramps and blocks for leveling fifth.
Wheel chocks.
Spare carpet for in front of camper door.
And anything else I can cram in the corners!

I have a 50 gallon aux. fuel tank, a 50 gallon fresh water tank, and 3 five gallon gas tanks in front of the 5th wheel. Behind the 5th wheel is the 35 gallon sewer tote with wheel chocks. I have an 8t. bed on a 1 ton dually. I have a roll up, lockable tonneau cover that is used when the 5er isn't attached. The 3 gas tanks and the tote are secured with cables that lock in case they decided to go for a walk. The gas tanks and the tote are also held in place with wratchit tie downs.

Add wife, dog, and full "bag of fuel" and we are right at the max GVWR of our 3/4 ton and that is with a "1/2 ton towable" 5th wheel.
(FYI - Gas tanks in fighter jets are made of heavy rubber bags due to the airframe stresses involved.)
