Mine seems to be a food item that we need for 1 of our meals.

One time we forgot wash rags for the dishes. Paper towels worked ok but we never did forget again.

Back in our tent camping days, I forgot the sleeping bags on an early summer trip to the Sierras. COLD nights with just a couple of blankets.

Forgot them only ONCE!

I once forgot my arrival and departure checklists (I.e., things to do and order to do them when we setup and takedown). This made for a much longer departure the day we left.

Now, I've got them on the iPad as well as hard copy.

Over the years list goes on & on ................. even with lists we manage to forget something....... The DW & I often go separately at different times often & that always leads to I thought you packed it........... We usually take a week or more to pack a little at a time for a longer trip or do a last minute camping trip which always leads to forgetting something.

Can't forget the dogs they are in before I can get the truck door all the way open

WE are real bad we have met in town ran errands got supper drove home & realized we left the other car in town.......... so camping we just

deal with it.

...and the absolutely worst item we ever forgot (twice) was coffee! There is nothing as disappointing as waking up on a beautiful morning to find we had to do without a pot of freshly-brewed coffee.

This past weekend I forgot my battery drill for stabilizing jacks. I have a crank so
it wasn't a biggie when we arrived but-- it was pouring rain when we left and it
took a long time to hand crank those jacks back up. And the corner gutters were
draining right down on me the whole time!!

I now have a rain suit stashed in the trailer.
And yes we have a pack list, we just got complacent from so many years
of camping and didn't check the list very carefully.
Lesson learned- again!

Did that once about 6 yrs ago and now I never take the battery drill out of the trailer or the extra battery & charger. I have 4 Sears battery drills. Over the yrs when replacing batteries, it has only cost $10-$15 more for a drill & 2 batteries than just 2 batteries, so just bought another drill set.

The opposite problem is leaving stuff in the trailer that you need at home, like all the tools we own, couldn't even find a hammer at home! Now we have just about 2 of everything. As you can tell, we're still new to this.
Going out for the first time this weekend, wish us luck, haha.

Make your own pack list which will need editing often at first but later on
will become close to perfect with use.
I keep our pack list as a word document on the desktop of my PC.
Before each trip I print the list and we scratch thru items as they are
packed.
Every once in a while we write something new on the list and I make
changes to the doc on the desktop.

Not what did we forget to pack so much as "Did we close the garage doors and set the alarm?". Have had to turn around more than once to go back and check. We now pull to the end of the drive and one of us will ask "Garage doors closed, alarm set?".

We keep a pad of paper on the counter several weeks before we go and write down things we need right up until we leave. It seems to help out a lot.

We forgot the camera but were only a couple miles when we remembered it.

I am bad about forgetting my trailer keys. It actually works out good for me that the CH751 key is so common to RV's, cause I have ended up several times having to borrow one of my camping buddies, so I can get into my storage compartment where my chocks, cords, and stuff are.

I decided I would keep my spare set in my truck, as to always have a back-up when I forgot my main set. However, I also have the nasty habit of being lazy around the house and will usually get my spare set out of my truck when needing something out of the camper at home, instead of walking in the house to get the main set. I then usually put the spare set in my pocket and they end up back in the house..........exactly where they don't need to be. So the next camping trip, I forget they are both in the house.....and have to borrow my neighbors key, again.

Course I've had them takin away for the last two weeks but I smoozed momma and got them back...
