What Do You Have for Televisions in Your RV?

What type of RV do you have and what do you have setup for television? Do you have satellite, use over-the-air or do you use park cable when available? What brand and size television came with your Forest River RV and what are the details of any others you have?

My 2016 Windjammer 3029W came with a 42" 1080p LED LG television in the entertainment center. It's a great television.

I added another identical LG 42" LG television outside under the awning and I added a 26" LG 720p LED television in the bedroom.

Each television has its own DirecTv receiver, with the one in the entertainment center being a DVR so we can watch what we want when we want on any television.

My preferred method of reception is DirecTv which I receive using a standard dish on a tripod that I setup wherever I go. I can always find a hole in the trees no matter how dense the foliage, and it usually takes me no more than ten minutes to get setup. If, for some reason I couldn't hit the satellites, I would use park cable if it was any good and if it wasn't, I would then resort to over-the-air broadcast.

We just have a 20" or so flat screen LCD that we got for free 10 years ago for getting Fios. It is hooked up to a DVD player and a Dish Tailgater for the 2 year old. We do not spend enough time in the trailer sitting on our butts to get anything else. We never seem to be in the trailer unless we are sleeping.

Ours came with a 24" flat screen that went out this spring. Replaced it with a 28" flat screen smart TV. We mostly camp at state parks so it's OTA reception, or yes, cable at a private park.

Came with a Toshiba 32" flat screen....Now, a Samsung 32" inside, a 32" newer model Toshiba for outside...King Flex sat. auto type dish, cable, ota ....No cables lay'n on ground for fur friends to get tangled up in....made front and rear mounts ( ladder/pin-box), wired trailer to be able to support both tv's and watch differant channels from the Flex as it supports 2 receivers.....1 that stays in trailer and 1 from house......outside tv on a swivel mount ( just finished) that attaches to side of rv.

Georgetown XL has a large screen in the living room with satellite which also goes to the outdoor TV screen. Bedroom has a mid-size screen, but is factory wired only to the over-the-air antenna. When boondocking sometimes I wire a small screen portable to the satellite to save electricity.

32" Sony in the bunkhouse.

We're not big tv people.
Never even raised the antenna.

Don't really need to watch tv when camping.
Unless of course, it pouring outside!

Our 30WRLKIS V-Lite came with 42" toshiba in the living room.For the bed room we use a 24 inch Toshiba. Depending on cg use cable or ant for watch news and weather. We are not much in to TV as we bought the camper for camping and enjoying the out doors. If I wanted to watch tv I'd stay home and save the money not buying a camper. Later RJD

I have a 46in Jensen but I want to upgrade to a LG 49in. We use Direct TV but also sometimes park cable.

we dry camp most of the time, to get away from stuff.
so, electricity is rare and cable even rarer.

we do have a 20" tv we use on longer trips. use an inverter and the air antenna with a tv signal location app.

we don't camp to watch tv. but we do watch it some when we take extended 3-6 week trips, if we can get a signal.

The DW is dead set against watching tv while camping. I mostly agree. The few shows we like, will be on the PVR when we get back.

What did you do for a mounting bracket in the bedroom? There's an option which includes a 20 inch and has a under the cabinet mount which I do not have. I'm very interested in what you used in the bedroom for a mount. Also a 42 inch on the outside how in the world do you support it? Any pictures? Thanks

32" Toshiba came in the rockwood fiver. Hides behind the fireplace. I added an articlating arm with 2 mounts for the bedroom and outside. Put a LG 24" w/DVD in the bedroom and move it to the outside mount when needed. Outside mount is inside the storage hole and articulating arm allows for swinging around to any angle. Use cable hookup when available, antenna when not, with antenna finder app on smart phone. Always got DVDs available too. All seasons of Frazier, Sienfeld and Raymond. They'll put you to sleep when nothing else will. 🙍

We have a 15.6" flatscreen Skyworth 12 volt TV/DVD on a swivel mount that we can see from almost any spot in the camper (bathroom excluded). Works great for catching up the news and weather and the occasional DVD, even when dry camping. We mostly use the antennae, but use cable if available.

26 inch Toshiba. Has been bouncing around on its mount for over 20K miles and still works.

If DW could not watch tv then I would have to stay home. We have Direct tv, as soon as I get the camper set up then the satellite dish goes up. I think DW likes NCIS more than me. I plan to install a LG 49in TV in camper and take out the Jensen, the LG will be 3D. I have right many movies in 3D and that I like to watch

For my bedroom television I bought a generic stand that mounts to the VESA threads on the back. The base of the stand is glass, large and heavy, so it stays in place while in tow. My dealer is trying to get me the factory mounting hardware for mounting to the bottom of the overhead cabinet, but I think I prefer using the stand.

For the outside television I use a GOstik suction cup mount. It's not cheap, but it is well worth the price as far as I'm concerned. It will hold up to 30 pounds (my television weighs 22 pounds) on the side of any smooth surface, like the fiberglass on my Windjammer. I can put the television wherever I want, whenever I want. I also have a weatherproof cover for my outside television so I don't have to worry about the rain and just leave it outside all of the time. Here is a link to the GOstik:

Have a 32" Vizeo in the LR and a 27" Vizeo in the bedroom. One Dish receiver to control them both.
