Our 5er came with a 50 inch in the living room (lowers to behind fireplace to see the rear window scenery) & 32 inch in the bedroom (which will also mount outside). Use trailer antenna ... which is poor reception most of the time. If site has cable, use that. Take a stack of movies for when the old folks settle in at night and/or if it is bad weather. As retirees, most camping is 1 to 2 week stays at a time. Might consider satellite TV if I didn't see so many camping neighbors frustrated with trying to find a signal or not finding a signal.

I can set up satellite in about ten minutes, I thought it was going to be hard, with fine tuning and all but it's a piece of cake, nothing to it. I never fine tune it

Our Puma came in with an upgraded 32" Toshiba, the campgrounds that we go to usually have cable, but we could care less we get away to be with family not to watch TV. No TV would be fine with us. Mostly if we watch anything camping it would be the local news.

At home we have satellite & may get rid of it of a 100+ channels $90 monthly and there is nothing worth watching.........

My 2016 Windjammer 3029W came with a 42" 1080p LED LG television in the entertainment center. It's a great television.

I added another identical LG 42" LG television outside under the awning and I added a 26" LG 720p LED television in the bedroom.

Each television has its own DirecTv receiver, with the one in the entertainment center being a DVR so we can watch what we want when we want on any television.

My preferred method of reception is DirecTv which I receive using a standard dish on a tripod that I setup wherever I go. I can always find a hole in the trees no matter how dense the foliage, and it usually takes me no more than ten minutes to get setup. If, for some reason I couldn't hit the satellites, I would use park cable if it was any good and if it wasn't, I would then resort to over-the-air broadcast.

How are you setup for television entertainment?

Bruce
24" Haier came standard in our 246RKS. We watch it occasionally when it's raining.

Put me in the woods with a compass and I will find a place to get through those trees to connect to all three satellites I need within ten minutes.

I only really need just one satellite, but I like HD, so I always go for the other two, also.

Some trees are not, pine trees are not a problem for Direct but sometimes you can find a hole. I have a Dish Tailgater and I don't use it anymore but when I did I could find a hole. I could put that antenna almost 20ft in the air. With the Direct antenna I have not tried to get it more than just a few off the ground.

If somebody finds a spot that works, there will be a gang of dishes set up in that spot.

We didn't buy our TT new, and the TV's didn't come with it (essentially estate sale).

We have a Toshiba 24" LED in the kids room, a RCA 32" LED in the main area, and another RCA 32" LED in the Master Bedroom. Given we only watch the TV's for news or a movie when we can't be outdoors, we just use the factory OTA antenna.

What Do You Have for Televisions in Your RV?

We have two 27" Vizio TVs, one in front cabin and the other in the bedroom. Didn't notice until they were installed, but the one in front is a smart TV. Not sure if we got ripped off, or if we got a freebie, since they were the same price. The guy in Electronics pull and rang them up. We use an Apple TV unit in BR. We carry a MiFi to get a strong signal when needed.
We have a Winegard/Dish satellite setup, but would need to either re activate our 2nd DVR, or pull one from the house.

Oaklevel...I agree. I'm waiting for a la carte pricing so I only pay for channels I WANT.

Six months before we bought our 28' Sunseeker 2650, purchased a Samsung 60" plasma. The RV has two sets already. I might convert the overhead bed to an entertainment center. Could use some thoughts on the plans and construction. Yes, we are aware of the size to distance concern, any more thoughts might help. Yes we might just leave it home but it is nice and big, I am a male and well .........

40" Panasonic LED in the living room.
32" Samsung LED in the master bedroom. The bedroom TV mount is also on the outside of the camper so the 32" slides up and off and we take it outside and slide it on the mount on the exterior to watch outside.

Cheaper and bigger then the no name junk that was offered with the camper.

DTV will be next year.. dealing with just cable if the campgrounds offer it this year.

Talking television

We have 32" Jensen? in the living room and a 29" magnazox that sits outside in the outdoor kitchen. We have roku 3's hooked up to both of them and a 2tb hard drive hooked into each roku. I have put dozens of movies and several whole series of tv shows onto the hard drives. Our over the air antenna seems to work pretty good but if there's nothing on then we just pick from something on the roku. Got rid of directTV a couple of years ago (too expensive) and who wants to sit inside and watch tv (too much to do). We just use the tv's for evening or football. Cincia
