For all of you with Tv's in your trailers, do you leave them in the rv over the winter or take them in the house???
I get's pretty cold here in Canada during the winter and I was planning to just leave my tv's in the trailer, but now I am not so sure.

HVAC on 24/7/365 so nothing except frig items are pulled from the coach. We have a non motion king dome hard mounted. So we have directv and windguard digital over air channels. A 32 inch LED 12 volt JENSON TV in the living room, and a like 22 inch unit in the bedroom.
As many do we use the coach as a rolling hotel room as we travel so home comforts are welcome....

We have a 40" Samsung LED 1080P Smart TV in the living/bedroom and a 24" Samsung LED in the bunkhouse. The 40" just fit into the swivel cabinet, I hate wasted space!

We have a tv in the bedroom, living room and in the toy hauler room. Also have a 42" for outside. I made the dealer by 3 different brands inside so the remotes wouldn't interfere with each other. I use wifi boxes for the dish signals to each.
My favorite spot..

We bought ours off the lot and it came with all Jensen's TV's.
42" in the living room, 32" in the bedroom and 19" outside.
Added DVD players to the bedroom and outside because we camp mostly at State parks and reception usually sucks for over the air (no matter how much I throw at upgrades).
When we watch, prefer our DVD's. Watch TV mostly just to find weather (radar) channels.

The TV is a Konka, and the antenna is a wingard that looks like an upside down bowl.Doesnt really matter because the TV has never worked anyway.doesnt matter where we are or what channel its on it is pixelated and cuts in/out so as to be unwatchable.

Mine came with a 32" Toshiba in the living room. Works OK but lacks good volume. I added a 24" lg TV/DVD in bedroom which does fine for us.

The 32" Toshiba in the big room has turned out to produce a buzz in the surround sound and I will insist on replacement. Put a 24" led/dvd RCA in the bedroom. The picture and DVD is good but the volume/sound on it leaves a lot to be desired. I'd take a pass on the RCA. Then again, I don't go camping to watch TV

I plan to buy a 55in tv on cyber Monday this year but I will have to move the entertainment center to do so. That will be something to do next year. I want the tv to be 3D and only two companies are still making them, well 3 but one makes the wrong kind. DW does not like the sound system on this camper so I need to buy a sound bar

40" Toshiba (supplied when bought 5th wheel) in Living Room.
Currently have a 22" Sansui TV/DVD Combo (migrated from our old pop-up) in bedroom on a MorRyde bracket (installed a couple of weeks ago).
Thinking of upgrading that bedroom TV to a 32", but not sure yet whether to go for another TV/DVD combo (generally they're not the best spec/quality), or whether to see if I can route an HDMI cable from the wall near the coax plate, through the roof and to one of the over-bed cupboards, and put a Blu-ray player in there.
More concerned with leaving TVs in there with the summer heat/humidity, rather than the winter temps here in FL

Our 2016 Silverback 33IK came with Jensen brand TV's. A 39" in the living room, and a 29" in the bedroom.
We wont be using them much as fulltimers, but plan on switching out the bedroom TV for our bricks and sticks bedroom 32" samsung LED TV for the occasional movie watching during bad weather. We dont plan on replacing the living room TV until it breaks.
The bigger question is why is the RV industry still putting DVD players in those living room head units and not blu-ray players.

Indeed !
Anyone found a particular shallow (front to back) blu-ray player ?
The bay in the entertainment center in our 5er is particular shallow (but full width of TV), and I'm not sure most blu-ray players would fit in there (with room for the cables to come out the back).
I was hoping to find something around the size of a portable DVD player, just without the screen, but haven't found anything like that and I don't understand why (since it must be feasible since you can get portable dvd/blu-ray players with screens). I guess the market is just fairly limited (tho' I'd think they'd be better than full-size players for smaller bedrooms too, not just RVs, or for folks to take when travelling for use in hotel rooms.

There is very little out there that uses 3D format. Very few movies are available in 3D. Even less cable/satellite programming.

Our 2015 RV has the stock 26" TV in the living area, I plan on getting a 32 " as that's what's in the 2016s and that seems like a better size fit to room size.
We'll watch stuff on our iPads in the bedroom if we watch anything there, more often wife plays video games, I read.
Although in years past we'd used our DirecTv and the tri-pod antenna portable mount, now it isn't worth the hassle of set up.
So while we've used over the air and cable at times I also always carry two or three 1-TB hard drives and have complete seasons of shows and dozens of movies ripped from DVDs so no commercials, and we'll watch those on the TV via a very small $35.00 media player from Amazon that plays the hard drives through USB input and then through the HDMI input on the TV so the picture on the TV is great. If we're traveling without the trailer I'll still take a Hard Drive and the player and watch stuff we want to watch in the various hotel rooms. It's a lot nicer!
Only problem is watching this way in the RV it's TV speakers only so I also plan on getting a small audio soundbar to fit under the TV on the shelf and improve the sound before next season.
I've never taken the TV's in from any of our RVs, never had an issue and it does get at and below zero during the winters. Trailer sits outside all covered up but outside.

We leave ours in the 5er. We also keep a oil space heater set to just above freezing because I don't like to winterize (Florida is not that far away and we have been known to get outta town in January )

IMO, pay a bit more and get a Furrion - I am not a huge fan of the Sansui, Toshiba & Samsung residential TVs they are putting in rigs these days. They are just not build for the vibration sustained by electronics as you roll down the road. Our 29" Furrion TV in the bedroom is solid as a rock!

Which media player did you get? I'm wanting to do the exact same thing, and have a couple of usb hard-drives spare.
Does it play mkv files and h264 video ok ? (I use mkv/h264 with 5.1+ for putting my old DVDs etc onto my media server)
For your issue with having to use the tv speakers, just connect an optical cable from the back of the tv (most should have one nowadays) and into the surround system (I'm guessing you have an iRV dvd/audio system ?), then you can enjoy any tv broadcast in surround (so long as it's received that way) including the output from your media player. Alternatively, if you do have an iRV, just hookup the HDMI output from your media player into an HDMI input on the iRV
