I read those posts.... and I also saw what happened to a camping neighbor. Maybe that he had older trailer and the seals were not as tight. The seals are not designed or intended as pressure seals.

This is a perfectly good method as long as you have a working backflow preventer on either side of the flusher port on the side of the trailer.

I bought my current TT used and it is my first with a black tank flush. I had previously read about the factory plastic backflow preventers breaking so I checked it and discovered that the previous owner had replaced it with a plastic 90 degree fitting, so I bought a brass external backflow preventer (aka vacuum breaker) to use on a dedicated flushing hose.

(Sorry the photo turns on its side.)

The other stuff about backups, vacuums, etc etc etc, has been hashed out way too many times. If someone doesn't have enough common sense to know that if you continue to put water into a black tank it's going to come out somewhere, eventually, then when it happens it won't be pleasant. I hope they don't confuse me with someone who cares about their situation.

I am guessing many RVs are like our Sunseeker,,, the Flusher connection is on the passenger side,,, and the Dump valves are on the drivers side !!!
I have hooked the Flusher up a couple of times @ home,,, and have never got anything but clear water to run out of the Black Tank ???
With our old TT I used a Toilet Wand,,, and always some stuff to flush out !!!

My flusher connection is on the same side as my dump valves and just above my city water connection.
