AWW. Is that a golden doodle ??
We are headed to a neighbor's house......I hope I make it until midnite. I also hope I can find my way home.....it is about 200 feet away. Don't have to worry about a DUI, but maybe a WUI (walking under the influence).

We're meeting up with friends at our deer camp. This isn't your usual deer camp, it has indoor facilities.

Its a pure-breed (not that it matters to us) Golden Retriever at 8-weeks old. His fluffy undercoat is what you are seeing. Plus, his Dam and Sire were a little on the light side, too.

Our New Years tradition
We have a tradition the we follow every New Years. We go out for an early dinner so we can get home before the amateurs get on the road.
Perhaps this year we may even be able to stay awake till midnight.
Perhaps next year we can celebrate in the promised land. (a campground!)
Have a safe and Happy New Years

Dinner for a friend's birthday, and then to a movie. Annual tradition. Sometimes we are out past midnight, sometimes we aren't.
Happy New year to all!

We have a New Year's Eve potluck at our neighborhood community center. Since we're on Pacific Time, we start at 7pm. At about 8:45 we tune the satellite TV to a New York TV station. When the ball comes down at 9:00 our time, we crack open the champagne, and we can be home by 10:00 and watch the televised fireworks at the Seattle Space Needle (or go to bed, as the spirit moves)!

We may catch an early dinner but most likely will just stay in. Probably be asleep when the new year comes in. In our younger days we were out among 'em, but not anymore.
That campfire sounds good. I have a 30" fire ring in the back, so I may do that. Take a few cool ones out with me.

Staying home, build a fire in the chimera on the pool deck and have a homebrew or two or three, etc.
Everyone be safe and have a Happy New Year and a Great 2011.

The wife and I will be doing our normal thing of watching tv until around 10:00 PM and then going to bed and going to sleep to bring the new year in. I would love to say that we would be camping but it is just too cold. We hope that everyone has a happy New Year and many great Camping adventures in 2011.

Well we ended up having our 2 oldest granddaughters over. We had a nice homemade meal of chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, country gravey, corn on the cob and hot rolls. Afterwards homemade chocolate milk shakes for dessert, then watched a movie and after that watched on TV as they dropped the ball in NYC (11pm our time). The girls did managed to stay up after midnight though.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to do the campfire. The last 3 days we have had close to 2 inches of rain (tornado warnings yesterday morning but no touchdowns here) and it was just too muddy. Look forward to seeing everyone else's pics.
I was awaken at 5am this morning with a phone call on my cell. I didn't get to the phone in time to answer and the phone number was unlisted. Don't you just love it when that happens? I hope this isn't an omen to how this new year is going to be!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Well i got carried away, i had plenty of wood for this occasion so i started a fire early which makes it the last campfire of the year and that is the first pic.
The second pic is at midnight, the first campfire of 2011 as you can see the pool was frozen too cold to set out side.......HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL.
