What is in your first aid kit?

Wow Herk you could open an Aid Station. I'm impressed. Glad someone mentioned pets. Skill level of the person with the kit means a lot. Also a good tip is to use a small dry-erase board in your rig to record the Campground, lot number and phone number of where you're staying. That way when you call 911 from your cell the first responders can zero in on you better.

Ok folks here is the biggest thing to put in your first aid kit. Practice and experience. Whatever you decide is your comfort level for first aid materials, LEARN HOW TO USE THEM! I've seen medics in the field work wonders with very minimal materials, and I've seen people with very sophisticated kits f___ up a relatively minor wound (a field pack dressing does not have to be put on like a tourniquet). Take a red cross course get familiarize with your kit and learn to use it smoothly and efficiently. Stay refreshed and inspect and renew your supplies every couple of years.
Here's hoping all your effort is a waste of time and you NEVER have to use it!!! But if you do be comfortable and be prepared.

We both attend our club's CPR certification and First Aid Classes every year.
It is taught by a Trauma doctor with combat medic and EMT experience.

He was the one who convinced me to add the AED to our kit.
When seconds count, help is only minutes away...

We added eye wash, six pairs of disposable gloves and four extra absorbent panty liners. The gorilla tape is in the tool box if needed.

Since I know the history of my family and friends, I don't have gloves in my kit. I DO have gloves and a mask in the AED since I may need to do CPR/Defibrillate a stranger in the campground.

Red Cross/BSA Wilderness First aid is great for us amateurs (CPR is a required).
Boy Scouts requires it for adults going on High Adventures (https://flic.kr/s/aHsjBpLxDo)

I carry my first-aid kit in a daypack (1/3 the pack) it goes with me on hikes. 1/2 major trauma 1/2 general medicine cabinet stuff (with first aid book)

*Gatorade - Great for dehydration of any form

*Clotcolth - Hope I never need it!

*Fiber pills - good for both problems - slows down things moving too fast, speeds up things moving too slow

*If you are away from medical services and with someone with sever allergies you need two epipens and benadryl (each pen is good for 15-20 min, benadryl takes 30 minutes).
