What is this fitting used for?

I have a 2015 Puma 32DBKS with a dometic 2652 refrigerator on a kitchen slide. Can any body tell me what this fitting is in the upper right corner of the picture? It appears to be electrical. It is located at the top of the refrigerator behind the freezer section on the right.

So could it be possible to use it for a starter on an added fan?

it's a thermostatic switch for 12 v electric fans to control heat at the back of the unit. It's also unconnected, so nothing is being controlled...

(the design was first done by "Klixon" and for those of us of a certain age, that is what they will always be...)
