What is up with all the Converter questions????

What is up with all the Converter questions? I have been reading this forum and been a forum member for years and this last couple of weeksI have read more question about people have Converter problems (me included ) than ever before. Anyone have an idea on what is causing all the problems? Is there a reason that they are dying that we can avoid? Comments?

Not that I know of.
It's the busy season here at the forums.
Lots of new members and old folks who've just opened up for the summer.
There's over 3 pages of "new" posts each morning.
Back in the winter it was down to a single page some days....

Happy Camping!

Thought I would introduce myself and get my two cents in at the same time. I have enjoyed and learned alot reading through the posts on this forum the last couple of weeks.
From what I have read and locations of converter problems I beleive some of the issues are caused by power spikes due to work on major line damage caused by storms and some of he issues are due to inadequate information to avoid conditions that cause electrical component failure.
Manufacturer cannot sell replacements for what doesnt fail.

Certainly the busy travel season is a major reason...but I have heard it a lot more lately due to power issues at camp sites and storms.

One of my rental accounts started using "Surge Guard" on their rentals due to all the blown converters. I can't speak from experience since I have never used it...but I haven't had any more calls from them. Maybe someone here has first hand experience.

Hmmm, let's see...maybe all of these were part of the bad batch they bought from China back in 1995 that were guaranteed for only 5 years?

I was using "Surge Guard" when my converter went bad. It did not help.
