What tool is needed

I need to replace the locking track on a draw that won't open. The screws that hold it in have a square head. What type of tool is necessary to remove and replace the broken track.

Do you mean a square drive, instead of slotted or phillips? If so you can buy a driver with many asst bits that usually contain the 3 sizes of square drive bits.

The Robertson (Square) design is a Canadian invention ... one of the only screws that wont fall off the end of your screwdriver

have found that often a Phillips or prince-reed may fit well enough to draw a square-head out, depending on how much torque was applied during installation --

Probably true, but as many times you will need to tighten screws, I would recommend investing in a set.

Harbor freight is a great place to buy tools at a great price. Looking through my tool box I discovered I had a set and the #2 was the right size. This forum is a great source of information and help. Off to Lowes to see whether they can order new tracts for the draw. Disappointed a 2014 is having so many things go wrong. They are small things, thankfully inexpensive but time consuming.

Take your old track with you. They may have the correct size in stock, or a similar one that will work. Good luck.

Not mad at all ... just trying to help educate people on it ... build a deck sometime using them with a battery impact driver and you'll never go back to slot or Phillips screws again.

Went to Lowes. They do not carry the same self locking draw tracks as advised in a earlier thread. Will need to order from an RV dealer.

And fewer dropped screws, means finishing sooner, and more time for "a cold one" (LOL)
