2007 duramax and Vcross 275VRL. Older Duramaxs must get lower MPH

12.5
Had my new F250 SuperDuty 6.7L pull my 21' Micro-Lite (4000 lb.) from Houston to San Marcos. 65 MPH, gauge showed 12.5 mpg. It really did pull like there was nothing behind me.

2002 Ford Excursion. DP Tuner 6-position chip, 4 inch exhaust, 8" lift, 37x13.30 MT Tires. Gets following milages:
EMPTY-
Chip position 1 (stock) - 12-13 mpg
chip position 3 (80 HP Econ) 14-15 mpg
chip position 6 (160 HP Race) 10-11 mpg
TOWING approx 8000# of Roo, gear and 4 wheelers-
Chip position 4 (40 hp Tow) 8-9 mpg
Chip Position 5 (60 hp Tow) 8-9 mpg
Chip position 3 (not recommended, but I use it anyway) 10-11 mpg
In case you are wondering, Position 2 is just stock with a 1750 rpm idle. I never drive in 2
Bear in mind that I tow at around 72 on the interstate. Ford diesels are happiest at about 1900 rpm, and thats 72 with my gears/tires. Unladen, I cruise at 80 or so most of the time.

2009 Charleston 40' diesel pusher pulling a Jeep Wrangler toad at the speed limit (70-75) averaging around 7 mpg. I hear if I go slower I would get 10 or so......

Your trailer looks level, but your truck does not. Do you need to drop the ball an inch or so and then lift the truck and trailer up with the stabilizer bars?

The dealer adjusted the hitch, and that was a pic first trip.Think the truck tilt is illusional mostly. A month later I see the trailer rear is tilted back a bit. Difference now the front storage area is loaded up full as well as storage areas to the front, and added a power jack. (went hog wild). Now seems to me the truck is about 1 inch to high with trailer tipped back alittle. Maybe will drop the hitch an inch and help level and distribute the weight better. Thanks I am NOOB. The trailer did look level ..... I have a E2 WDH sway control. I paid to have the hitch readjusted from my first TV which was a Pilot . I should have had a full load so will have to try and tweak it.

I haven't checked the mileage on my new FR3 30 DS and I may not. Had to lie to get 9 mpg on my 03 Sightseer. I had a 99 Superduty 7.3L and a 9K trailer and got 13 to 15. Maybe I should just tow the coach. I've still got the truck.

I was getting around 7 the first few times I hauled my trailer, a Coachmen Freedom Express 233RBS being towed with a Jeep Grand Cherokee V8. I dropped the front of the trailer down a few inches and the last time I towed it I was at almost 9.

Just picked up a 2009 v lite 30wrls with my 2006 Chevy Avalannche 5.3. Came home on a road that I knew I wouldn't be able to keep a steady 55mph and was a little rougher than the Interstate just to test ride. Got 10.5 mpg average going through towns up and down hills. Towing my old trailer a 1996 sunline that was 2000lb lighter and 6 ft shorter I could only get 9 tops on the Interstate and any other road. Hope this continues when its totally loaded, figured we add about 500 lbs max to trailer, never tow with water and buy most food on long trips after arriving.
