Question When do you watch your outside entertainment center?

Seems to me, unless you are putting on a party with many friends, the main use of an outside TV is when you are boondocking and it is too hot inside. But since the TV (and satellite receiver) requires 120V and too many amps, you have to run the generator. But if you run the generator, you can run your A/C so it won't be hot inside. Unless an outside TV is 12V, then I don't see much use for it. Right? Wrong?

If I had an outside entertainment center, it would be well used. I have to remove my TV and hang itbup outside.

And, in before this thread turns into a fight over noise politician and the blaring TV intruding on the neighbors.

A 120VAC 32" LED TV does not use much power at all (30 watts or less) and can be easily run for hours with a small portable 100W inverter. A Directv only receiver uses 20-30 watts.

Personally, we have 12VDC TV's throughout and watch outside with the Camco Little Red Campfire and S'mores by our side. Can't beat it!

X2 on power use. I use a 750W inverter that seems to power the TV 24" furrion for ever. When the grandkids are visiting and watching Disney stuff at night I'd rather the s'mores were outaide rather than inside. We have a hybrid and canvas doesn't offer much of a sound barrier so inside/outside isn't a big difference. Fortunately we are generally camped on rather remote sites and observe posted quiet hours.

We use our outside TV mainly for watching football games in the fall and enjoy the heck out of it! We don't have to have the sound blaring where it bothers neighbors.

I don't have one on my trailer but I've noticed that football games on Sunday and Hockey/Baseball playoff games seem to be the biggest use of outdoor TVs. Especially when someone has a large group of people that want to watch.

I don't see a whole lot of regular, everyday type usage.

Best one I saw...

Guy got all set up. Brought out the carry out dish, and screwed his tv mount to the nearest tree.

We sit outside and watch tv all the time in FL. We are both smokers and don't smoke inside the camper.

It's a real thrill for the grandkids to sit outside and watch a movie.

I've turned mine on ONCE to be sure that it did work. It's a 32" model. If I want to watch TV, I'd rather watch the 40" screen in the main cabin.

have never watched tv or even played the radio/cd's outside and never will. campsites are too small for that any more and I would not inflict my entertainment preferences on the people around me.

Outside TV

Never.

I go camping to get away. If I want to watch Walking Dead I'll stay home.

We watch different programs.... Smoke in or out as I think this trailer is a keeper, coffee pot sits outside with the ability to fill it without going in, and guard/ navigating dog likes to be out. Sound kept down also.
