Being retired we do about the opposite. The 5er rarely moves in summer ~ not because of heat but prefer to go when the kids are in school. CGs are less crowded then EXCEPT for wintering in FL.....

Side Note...

Does anyone know if someone makes a fan that fits in your TT side windows?

What I like to do at home is put a fan in a window on one side of the house blowing out, that pulls the cool air in the windows on opposite side of the house
pushing the hot air out.
If someone made a window fan for an RV you could do the same thing!

No just a standard fan in the bathroom.
No fan in the vent above the bedroom.
I was wondering if someone made a window fan you could push the hot air out one side an suck cool air in on other side.
I prefer Cross Ventilation!

Wolverine, you are right the 14 x 14 holes are already in the Roof, where Hot air goes so installing F Fans in there is easy and works Very well to Vent a RV! They ,RV MFG should be ashamed to install "Noise Makers" in the bath area! Roof Air, roof Vents is the way to go! Youroo!!

Those Fantastic Fans are Fantastic !!!
A couple of years back we were spending the night near my cousins pond,,,
as we headed in just after sunset,,, the Misquotes were trying to carry us away,,, several got in with us,,, first thing I did was turn FF on high,,, later I had to clean the dead Misquotes of the FF screen !!!
I would not own a RV with out a FF & FF cover !!!

We camp whenever. A few weeks ago it was 96 in South GA and the unit was at 74 inside. We make sure we get it going early and stay ahead of the afternoon sun. Works fine. Never want to play catch up.

I hate to say this but, if the inside is 100* and the outside is 95*, not much cool air is acomin'!

If it is not a rainy day while traveling, I'll leave the vents open to "let out" the hot air that builds up inside. The first thing I do after unhooking is get the power cord plugged in and the A/C going. Turn the FF on high for a few minutes until some cool air is flowing from the A/C, then turn off the FF and close the vents. Put Relectix on the windows behind the day/night shades, tower fan in the den, box fan in the BR, vent pillows in the vents, awning out for shade, keep door closed as much as possible, cook outside, leave the fan for the A/C in the ON position, do the sight seeing during the middle part of the day(gonna be hot anyways).

We are leaving on Wednesday to cross the entire country going to NY to visit family. I too, worry about out 2 small dogs that will be traveling with us. My biggest fear is that the AC won't work right. We won't be leaving them alone in the RV for fear the AC will quit, and the dogs could die from heat, which they aren't used to. I have already planned on leaving my DH in the motorhome in the parking lot with the dogs when I need to go grocery shopping!

I have the same one...
I drilled a good size hole in the top for an S-hook and hang it in front of one of the windows! Pulls a nice cross ventilation!

Don't you have a generator in your Forester?

Yes, it has a generator. I guess I am just worried that the AC unit on the roof won't be able to take the 115 deg. heat going through the CA, AZ, NM, TX desert. I feel like once we get to the midwest, hopefully it won't be as hot. Of course, I have never been to OK, OH, IL, PA.

Our windows are tinted, but someone mentioned using the foil heat reflective window covers. I am going to Walmart tomorrow to look for those. On my "To Do" list!

If it's 115 your A/C might get the temp down to 95 and that's about it. I know "it's a dry heat" ....

That always tickles me a bit. I live in the Deep South where humidity and heat are the name of the game. Iowa isn't any better in the summertime. Just a lot worse in the winter.
