I don't know of any books. Maybe there is an online resource?
We have a giant wooded lot. We take care of our own lawn/trimming.
We pay our own metered electric. They pay water, sewer, trash.
Cost is $1,150 for 2009 season. (May-Sept) $300 deposit due in Sept for following season...balance due in April. Cable & telephone connections at each site, we pay if we want the services.
We can landscape however we want, and the units just remain in place for the following season. Very laid back place, where there aren't that many rules, and no quiet hours. Respect thy neighbor goes along way. In 2 seasons, I don't have any complaints.

Cost will very depending on location, Example on the Eastern Shore at Frontier Town in Ocean City MD the last time I check it was $6,000 and that was water front and I believe the time frame was from April to the end of October. Everything has to be off of the camp sites when they close for the season. I did hear that the owner was going to phase them out. There was at one time a 3 to 5 year waiting list to get in, imagine that! Now if you pick a place in the middle of no where with nothing around then the rates will be dirt cheap. There is another place on the Eastern Shore, I think it is called Dave's Cove about an hour South of OC, it starts out cheap but as you add to your plan the price go's up so you do have opinions in some areas.

Well, I dont know if there's a book or magazine out there, but it seems if you google something like tennessee seasonal campground or whatever other state, then it comes up with good enough results to keep you busy enough at work that no one will suspect that you're planning your next vacation on company time.
I know that several campgrounds in Colorado are open, there is no campground host, but the rangers still come around to make sure you are paying your dues. We also get some discounts for electrical sites too during the winter, so it makes it worth the trouble of pulling out during a snow storm in hopes of calling in stuck on Monday.
Hope that helps.

Hey Phil...
Check this out: http://www.trailerlifedirectory.com/
On the left hand side, click "more search options" and then you'll have the option to check the things that you want at the campsite. One of the choices being "open all year".
I found this in book format too on Amazon.com, but online could be even better if you have internet access at the campsite.
Hope that's better help
Joe
