Who ice Fishes here?

Some of you from the north must also ice fish. Just starting our late season here this year. Got out the last few days for some perch. In RV terms my TV is a 2015 Artic Cat 400 and my trailer is a Clam Yukon (folds out of the sled.

I always thought that would be a neat experience but not a chance in Louisiana.

I used to. Lost my fishing Buddy to Cancer. Lost the next one to ALS. Not much desire to go after that. Sold my Strikemaster Lazer, my Marcum and my Otter Lodge along with the Polaris Sportsman. All I have left is a few rods some tackle and the desire to head south in the Winter, which I'm doing shortly. I used to love to ice fish though......

Canadian, what lake are you on? We live on Lake of the Woods, Mn shore. Finally got cold enough the last few weeks to get out. The nice weather was great for everybody except the resorts, fishermen and snowcatters.

I tried ice fishing once and didn't like it. By the time I cut a hole in the ice big enough for my boat, I was too tired to fish!

Oh that counts all right. Can't do that here as those heavy truck would be through the ice. We got 6 to 8 inches of ice right now.

I did park my TV on the ice the other dsy but it beach there and not deep if it did break.

I did make up this short video a few years ago for those who have never done it. Not a great video but give you a view of the ride out. Its my second trip out as I had already dropped a buddy and his portable off and I am going back out with a second hut and another passenger on the skidoo. At the end we have perch on the ice. The gopro with the wide angle do not make the fish coming out of the hole look a lot smaller than it is.

We live on the southern tip of Lake Huron but it's too big and rough to ice fish so we fish one of the smaller lake st st Clair on the Great Lakes.we fish the north east side of lake st Clair. On a clear day I can see Detroit on the south west side. We have 6 to 8 inches of ice right now.

Lake of the woods would be a great place to ice fish.

My brother is a die hard ice fisherman. He's usually the first one on the ice around here, which was just about a week or so ago. Been unseasonably warm up until then.

In NB we ice fish a fair amount however we tend to learn from other truck owners that thought it was safe to park their 50 thousand dollar investments on the ice.

First pic was Lake Champlain
Second pic was Sask. Canada (9 hour rescue)
Third pic - well somewhere in Alberta.

I'll admit, I laughed out loud at that.

Yes we I-fish also. Gregoire for perch and Engstrom for trout. I think we are a little further north than you though. Northern Alberta
