We purchased our last two 5er's at RV shows. They were bought at the Chicagoland RV show in Rosemount IL.

One was SOB in 2010 and then we bought a 2016 Cedar Creek last Feb.2015. We did have one issue in buying our last unit at the show. We where not looking to buy any 5er at the time; but could not pass up the deal that Forest River and the Dealer provided us on the trailer.

Our Dealer wasn’t showing at the Dayton, OH show this year. Said he was kicked out because his prices were too low. So we had no reason to wait and ordered a new Cedar Creek 36ckts for early Spring delivery. This picture is of one similar, that he was prepping for another customer.

John, glad to see you don't mess around with those intermediate trailers.

How exciting to see you go for the big boy. Are you going to have it in time for the Tadpole Rally?

I hope so, we need a new place for the party

Jay,

Tadpole Rally for sure! We hope to get it out a couple of times before that. I need some practice backing this thing up! We’re coming in a day early and have to leave Saturday evening. My son is graduating from Ohio State on Sunday and we need to get to the “shoe” on time. We can talk trucks. I love driving this Ford.

Hi, I'm a new member. Just purchased a new Rockwood Mini Lite 2506S yesterday. Just wondering if anyone has purchased one since this floor plan just came out. Traded in a Rockwood pop up and looking forward to "not setting up."

You probably made your best deal at the dealer. From what I have found, you can get a much better deal away from the RV show. The dealers have to pay for that floor space at the convention or expo center, and it does not come cheap. They are not going to eat that cost and take it from the bottom line if they can help it. The "RV show super low special price" is usually not very special.

Welcome to the fun.
I am not familiar with the model but we had a Flagstaff Micro Lite (made on the same production line as the Rockwood Mini Lite) that we were very happy with. Looking at the floorplan on the 2506S, I really like the front kitchen. Not having to do all that extra setup is nice.

Going to the Columbus boat and RV show this weekend. Will not be buying though as I just bought the new Georgetown last month. My dealer is not going to be at any if the local shows either.

The shows here are in Feb and March, but our dealer does not attend. When we bought ours we went to the area show to see what the floor plan looked like got a take or leave price ........Left it, went back to our dealer ordered the same trailer with more options, and saved over $1,000 from what the "show" dealers price was..........

That's common, even with a dealer that is at a certain show.

We had a 2011 Aerolite HTT that we paid 15.4K for in real numbers in Sept of 2010 from a local dealer. The following spring after the Pittsburgh RV show I ran into a couple who had the same model trailer from the same local dealer except they had purchased at the RV show in Jan. He told me how great of a deal they received because of the special RV show price which was 16.9K. I ruined his weekend, he didn't believe me until I showed him my paperwork I had in the trailer.

I love going to RV shows and playing with the salesmen to see what kinds of BS I can get them to tell me. If you want to have fun with them.... find a 40' 5er and ask the salesman if you can tow it with a 1/2 ton truck with a v6

Going to the Greater KC show next weekend. We bought our Flagstaff there two years ago. We go every year. This year we will focus on models to full time in instead of looking at everything.

We just purchased our new 2016 Sandpiper while at Pomona RV show. We purchased from Camping World Valencia, CA. Love the improvements from our 2005 Cedar Creek!
