Good Sam, if your RV is financed they offer replacement value. Some of the auto policy add on pay ACV which can be a lot less. Good Luck

I have a writer attached to my car and truck policy, checked GS and others mine was best through AARP Harford. I always check, but being on with my auto they all have the same coverage, then get a discount

Don't know about the cheapest but I have Progressive. They were quick to evaluate the claim and pay. My premium is 400 for a new 2702ss Forest River Rockwood.

Echo the Good Sam. I have checked various other companies of adding it to existing vehicle policy and Good Sam has beat all of them out on Trailer insurance. On the flip side they didn't do as well on my other vehicle pricing but their rate warranted me continuing with Good Sam for the fifth wheel for coverage at best price.

Insurance costs

We use Geico. Have a 2015 FR3 and 2012 Nissan on policy-full coverage on both about $480/6MOS. Good Sam quoted us about 60% more.

I use Progressive. They may be a little bit higher, but are easy to work with. Just got the insurance for our new 23bd Greywolf, so we have not had to use it there. We did have to use them last January though when a red light runner smashed into my husband totaling the car (no injuries). They even got all over the other 2nd rate (never heard of) insurance when they did not pay us for expenses incurred.

We originally had National General (Good Sam) on our Lexi. Rate was $480 yearly. At the end of second year, rate went up to $675, for no reason. No claims filed, and was prompt with yearly payment.
Contacted Nat Gen rep, who stated it was an across the board rate increase. Told them I was going to cancel, and all of a sudden my rate dropped to $560, cause I was a "good customer".
Got a quote from Progressive for $440 for even better coverage than I originally had with Nat Gen. Went with Progressive. Contacted Nat Gen, told them I was not going to renew. They then told me that I could renew my Nat Gen policy, and that they would beat the Progressive quote.
I laughed so hard I almost piddled in my shorts. Told them they could take their policy and stick it up where the sun don't shine.
Bottom line, just shop around with several decant company's, and if your rates go up, just switch.

insurance

We have farm bureau and we had a hail storm in april and it ruined our air conditioner, broke lights, put holes in the roof and cracked vents our agent just told us to take it to the rv place of our choice and have them estimate the damage and send her a detailed page with costs,it was approved and the roof, air conditioner and all the others were fixed and we had our unit back repaired in a few short weeks....

After posting realized I had Mexico coverage. Maybe I can save some money. I won't ever be taking my TT to Mexico.

GEICO less than Good Sam

I just took delivery of my Truck and will pick up my new 5th wheel in January. In comparing all insurance costs, and talking to all the reps at the recent Hershey RV show, it came out GEICO was the least expensive. However, I am not confident GEICO knows much about RVs, especially how to tow my 8 ton 5th wheel to the service station. Plus, just a few months ago, GEICO made an unauthorized charge of $13.00 on my umbrella policy. I had to get the Insurance Commissioner of the State of Maryland involved to get my $13.00 back, even though GEICO congratulated me on being a loyal customer for 40 continuous years.

I went with Good Sam because I feel confident they can handle my tow vehicle and 5th wheel should a problem arise. I will reevaluate in a year.
