Agree with bikendan, I connect the tote wagon to the sink drain. The DW loves to rinse.

I just empty my Grey tank when 3/4 full and don't need to worry about overfilling. I only use tote for grey tank

We''ve been to several state parks that do not have sewer hook ups and have used our 2 wheel blue tank several times. We pulled it behind my wife's handicap scoote, the slip on handle works great once I fashioned a hook on the back of the scooter.

Check Craigslist and flea markets. I picked a 25 gal tote at flea market for 5 bucks. I had to pick up a new hose fitting for 8 bucks 13 bucks in all not bad.

I had a 35 gallon, 4 wheel tote. When we were out west last summer we told the kids that we weren't going to travel out there any more as it's too hard on my wife. We dry camped almost 99% of the time but that ended. I gave the tote to my son because he can haul it with his quad. Fast forward to now. We made reservations at a provincial campground for our long weekend in May because our son and his family here wanted us to camp with them. We don't just do weekends anymore. No less than 10 days. So we will be there for 10 days on either side of the long weekend. One problem....no hookups because it's a very popular place. So we went out and got another 35 gallon tote. It sits in the back of the dually that has a long box. I have a macerator pump to pump into the tote and I also have a sewer hose extension so I can hook up to the tote and dump from the back of the truck. I also gave away my chain saw to my son in law out west and therefore had to buy another one after we got home. Luck of the Irish I guess.

We bought this 32 gallon Barker tote with pneumatic tires that are a lot better for towing. It's definitely not cheap but worth it if you camp regularly for more than 4 days without hookups.
A full 32 gal. portable tank is too heavy to pull up a ramp into the bed of the truck. We don't plan on ever using our tote for the black tank.
We dump dishwashing water in the black tank and use campground showers to conserve volume in the grey tank.

I have an old style Barker and it's worth it's weight in gold when doing long stays as we never have sewer hookups.
I once seen a guy with an old style Barker heading down to the dump station doing about 25 or 30 mph. Their is a reason some have a sticker saying not to exceed 5 mph. Its because the wheels have no bearings, just plastic hubs on a steel axle. The dump station was about 3/4 away and he made it about halfway there before the hubs melted from friction, and the wheels came flying off. One he'll of a mess.

Grey Water solution
I picked up an extra Shufflo pump at an estate sale for $5, and an old grey water tank from Craigslist for $10. I pump the grey water into the tank in my truck. It is mounted above the bed on two by fours crossing the bed. I have a 30 gallon water tank on top of that. I can empty my grey tank and haul it to dump wherever. My sister-in-law almost emptied our water tank with one shower.
We dry camped outside of Yellowstone for 5 nights with 6 people, and our black tank was about full.

I just purchased the new Barker 42 Gal that has the new tires and bearings. Still says 5mph. We are going to Zion for 7 days and there are no showers and the only hook up is electric. Without this my wife would be going insane with little to no showers. Now she can shower to her hearts content. Happy and clean wife, happy life.

I'm thinking the black tank will last most or all of the trip depending on how much we use the campground bathrooms. I think I will be hauling lots of grey water out and adding lots of fresh in (good thing the dump is close). I just purchased a 12v water transfer pump as well for using our 5 gal collapsible jugs. I think you are correct, I will be hauling lot's of "water" in some form both ways on this trip.

I like watching the tote parade each morning around 9:00 when we are at the lake. Of course, I have to join in every couple of days myself.

Siphon
I place my water tank high enough in the truck that it will siphon into the ROO. If you're using 5 gallons jugs, you can set them on a step ladder or table to siphon.
I'm old enough or lazy enough that holding a 5 gallon water jug up while it drains into the trailer, just seems silly.
