Why I like having an RV

My previous reasons included not having to schlep baggage into and out of a hotel just to sleep for a few hours, not having to eat questionable food just because it was the only place still open etc. I think I'm adding a new reason no hotel bugs!

I sleep in my own bed and don't end up with a back ache. I don't have children running around in the room above keeping me up half the night. I can change locations any time I'm ready and I don't need a time-share.

No need to schlep anything in and out of the car/truck/van. Nice. No searching for vegan meals. Nice. Not having to worry about motel reservations. Nice.

all of the above, and we can take our 3 dogs with us. Can change plans if need to, stay longer. The ability to go on more trips.
oh yea makes a great dog house (for me)!

Even when I stop at a restaurant, I can bypass their restroom and use my own. No muss, no fuss, no waiting. Unless the wife gets there first.

No more bad/expensive meals. With our biggest expense being fuel, it allows us to take a lot more trips. Sleeping in your own bed. Waking up in the middle of the night and finding a fridge and pantry full of food(this could be good or bad). A campfire right outside your door. We've never called a hotel room welcoming and cozy.

If we want to sit by a running stream in the mountains this weekend we can. If I want to hear the crash of the ocean waves and walk on the beach and then walk back to our "beach house" next weekend we can. If I want to take my boat and fish a favorite lake for a weekend we have our own "cabin" on the lake. If I need a "ski chalet" for a ski weekend we have one. If I need a place to stay when visiting family I take it with me, no rented beds.

Sure, the RV will loose money but I can't afford houses in all these places. So I take our vacation house with us where ever we go.

I love having our own bathroom when on the road and a place for snacks/sodas/ect and not carrying a cooler. We also have a DGD that camps/travels with us and she likes to travel in her jammies when we leave real early in the morn. It is great that when we are finally ready to stop for breakfast that we can take her in the camper so she can get dressed and brush her hair.
