Wife boinked her head pretty good on pin box,

Besides the RV Safezone product what are you all using to absorb a boink from the pin box.

We use pool noodles to protect our heads from everything.

Don't currently have anything, but have thought of an old Tupperware bowl with lid glued on, with a X cut in the lid that would allow it to be pressed over the pin and create a softer buffer.

I use the RV Safety Zone one, but recently saw this while walking at a campground:

That little kid barely clears the pin. You need a taller wife!

We all have fears- some rational, some not. I always had this vision of the kids running (especially at night) and taking themselves out on the pin. I've had a pinbox cover from the first season we camped in this thing.

DW is famous for leaving the cupboard just inside the front door open. She, at 5' 4" has no issue with it, me at 6' 2" have contacted it a number of times. It happens often enough that I am thinking she does it on purpose!

I have one cabinet in our living room that holds batteries and tools. For some reason, I leave that damned door open all of the time. I'm also the only one who clubs his head on it.

I wish I could blame Dang Wife (DW) - but really, it's my idiot self.

Take a pc of 3" or 4" about 40" long and bungy cord it over the pin and over the pinbox. Paint it fluorescent orange.

We have a king pin lock that is bright orange and has a orange strap hanging down. Serves as a good eye catching reminder.

That stinks, I really like the look of it.

Looks like it was a Canadian company. The web wayback machine only has entries for it in 2011.

I haven't tried calling the number.

Otherwise, I debated hanging a flowerpot from the pinbox with some fake flowers in it.

OR, hanging a camper sign from it with our names or something.

The RV dealership I sold for placed large fake potted plants under any 5ers in the showroom so people wouldn't hit their heads...except this one time shortly after I started. A couple were looking at a cash deal on a used TT and he had a firm out the door price. I went to my office and grabbed my calculator so I could back out the taxes, tag fees, etc. so we would know exactly what he was paying for the TT.
I was motoring with my eyes on the calculator and someone had moved the plant. I didn't hit the pin box, just the RV (beautiful Montana). You could hear the boom all over the showroom. One salesman told me the Montana moved a good 6 inches (I think he was kidding). Talk about a headache! I had neck surgery about 5 weeks previously and that was my only worry.

wentcamping, if you click the picture you can then zoom in on Flickr. The website is www.ravencoinc.com which is no longer in service. I could only find anything by using the Internet Wayback machine. I'm guessing they're out of business.
