Hey Lou, I am thinking about painting the slide side walls a light gray like the gelcoat. You are right... they get darn hot.

WW . They get to hot . don't know why they would use black . it may look nice but not very good in hot weather . mine sported the the reflective coating all winter . sounds funny but you know Fl winters

Excellent idea... my nice looking black Dometic AC cover is going to end up white soon. I'm not an expert, but white has to be more efficient than black. I am also considering getting more vent insulators thingies and making cover for the sky light over the shower, for when it is hot like it is now.

I have a 2608ws with one 15k AC. We're out here now in New Mexico and we barely keep cool during the day. We turn off all lights, use the tin foil covers in the Windows, minimize cooking, and just keep still. Yes another AC would be helpful. Our next unit will have two. putting a grand into it would be good if you're going to keep it.

Second AC

Go for it! We added a second 15,000 after staying in 100 degree heat last year. Only been in 90 degree heat so far this year. Just to see if it would I set both zones a 68 degrees. Maintained that temp with no problem.

I added a second A/C in the bedroom and it made the difference. Would it help when parking your RV to pick a site that the awning faces south. It would help burn off the direct sunlight on the dark sides.

I've often wondered why RV air conditioners suck. Is it merely a tonnage issue, or is there more to the story?
