My question... is it worth $1000? Our AC will cool about 20 degrees lower than the outside temperature and that's what I understand to be on par. In texas this weekend it was 100 outside and the camper was 80 inside during the day and around 68 during the night.

Would adding a 2nd AC make the camper cooler during the day or would a 20 degree difference still remain? Would 2 ACs keep the camper say 70 or so during a 100 degree day?

Thanks

Yes it's worth it and yes it will keep it cooler. Day before yesterday had some kitchen counters sprayed and couldn't stand the smell. Went out to our RV, about 12:00 noon and turned on both ACs. In about an hour it was super cool and ready for me to lounge. Oh yeah- this was on a hundred plus degree day.

I installed my second a/c in the the bedroom of our flagstaff 26fkws
Closed the trailer up on a 95 deg day,
Went out around 3:30 pm and the inside temp was at 99
Im sure it was higher, but thats what the tstat goes up to
Anyhow
I fired up both a/c units and within 1 hour it was down in the 70's
With the single 15k unit, it struggled to get into the high 80's

Not sure if your trailer is 30 or 50 amps but if it is 30 you may have problems with power. If you add the second ac you may have to run a second power cord. If yours is prewired for a second ac, go for it. My new Rockwood 8329ss came with two and DW loves it.

My TT only has 30A service. I plan to add a 2nd A/C before heading out West so I installed a 2nd 30A circuit by drilling a 2 3/4" hole beside the current plug and installing:

1) ALEKOŽ 30AINWH White 30A RV Power Cord Twist Lock Inlet
2) Superior Electric YGA024F Twist Lock Electrical Receptacle (placed on a spare 30A cord I had)
3) Homeline 70 Amp 2-Space 4-Circuit... Load Center w/1 30A main breaker powering (2) 15A breakers.

One circuit will power the bedroom A/C & the other powers indoor kitchen & outdoor kitchen outlets we use for electric skillets, coffee maker, etc.

All of the CG's we stayed at this summer had 50A service so I've been connecting the main 30A to the 50A plug w/adapter/surge protection and the 2nd 30A plug to the standard 30A plug.

Yes, a second a/c will make your rv cooler. An added benefit is it also gives you a backup a/c. I see a lot of post about a/c stopped working. That can ruin a vacation or trip.

I put a separate 20amp service that is just dedicated for the 2nd a/c on a secondary power supply input
