We definitely live in different worlds. It now just getting good camping weather down here......when the mosquitoes won't try to carry you off at night.

There's fresh snow on the mountain peaks, but still a few golden aspen on the lower slopes. The Forest Service campgrounds in the mountains have closed or will by next week. The high today is in the 80's in the Denver area, but the low temp on Friday night is predicted to be 29.

So, we are headed for a campground in northern New Mexico this weekend. When we get back on Columbus Day, we winterize.

We've really enjoyed our new Tracer. I had the trailer winterized today, but hope to stretch the season longer for 2013.

Got a question for the camping folks. Do you guys ever stay one day/night at a campsite? I have done it once and it was tiring.

I have done a few one nighters on a whim this season. We stayed close to home and made the choice to go the day of. It is a lot of work...but this whole season has been a lot of work trying to figure out how best to do things. I have gone from 1+ hours to set up and take down to less than 20 min including leveling when needed. I do however envy you 5er owners.....Class A even more so!. Still each trip gets better in terms of set up time and one night is not really an issue as it was early on in. When we purchaed in Feb....here in Mo we had some really weird weather and went a few times in late feb and early march. That sucked because I had to de and re winterize each trip.

I got a late start out of the gate and one nighters were how things just worked out in the beginning. Keeping everything simple works best for one nighters.

Now unless I'm tacking on the one night stay to a trip its not usually worth the cost or work. Maybe if I were married and had a DH to share the work I would feel different.

DW and I are known to do spur of the moment one nighters early and late season. We like to call it "camping light". No set up other than hooking up shore power and thats if we are at a CG that has it. If you leave early say 7 or 8 am on a Saturday, drive 100 miles, hang out and enjoy the outdoors and leave at latest check out time, it is amazing how the overnight feels like a couple of days of R&R. I do realize it is easier having a class A to do this.
