So, we have a new Palamino Hybrid, 23' with the two bunk ends that extend. Took it out last week to test it out in colder temps to see how it worked. Even down to 38 degrees F we were toasty warm between furnace and/or space heater. Even extended both beds...used the heated mattresses and had electric blankets. Actually too warm for me.
Anyway, my husband plans to use it all winter...in Ohio, about 2 nights a week to be near his job, parked with electric access only, keeping both bunk ends closed up, and using the sofa bed to sleep. We have it winterized, so he won't use the water. But...wants to use the toilet just to pee (he has access to indoor shower and bathroom nearby during the day). Any advice about whether he can safely do this without tank contents freezing? He plans to have antifreeze in tank, but should he also use it each time he uses the toilet?
Also, any advice about covering the slideout...there will be snow, rain, ice perhaps....? And he's planning to use some type of insulation underneath.
I think the biggest issue will be frustration with not using water...but he's more worried about being warm.
Advice welcome.
